Opposite Things

Paul exhorts the Philippians to be of one mind, of the same love, and of one accord. Let nothing be done in selfishness and empty conceit, but to look out for the interests of others. To do this you must have the same mindset as Christ Jesus who humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death. Therefore Christ was exalted by the Father.

In the example of what Jesus, we have the pattern and the mindset for all that we should do as believers. How was Jesus best used for the Father for His glory. Paul gives us the receipe. Let this mind be in you. The more we measure up to this example, the more that we will be used for the glory of God. Have you taken the lowly estate of Christ? 1st - Christ humbled Himself voluntarily. 2ndly - Jesus had a very good motive for humbling Himself. The joy of our salvation. Things opposite to each other that He did in accomplishing our redemption, glorified God. Jesus is worthy of the highest place, worthy of all of our praise and our becoming like Him. Opposite things to what we deserve were purchased by Christ in His enduring His sufferings on our behalf. 2nd - His exaltation is the guarantee of our exaltation.
