All right, grab your Bibles.
Sorry, it was easier to sing when everybody was out of here. Y'all make me nervous. No, I'm
kidding. I'm kidding. There's just something about
being around God's people. And You know, God's with me when
I practice too, you know, and it touches me and I if if somebody
was here while I was practicing, probably heard me get choked
up then too, but. For some reason it's a lot easier
because my mind goes to how it applies to me and how it applies
to everyone hearing and everybody online and just how good God
is and the fact that now, now there is still time. Now there
is still time. Amen. And he's not gone. He's still waiting by the well.
He's still holding out his hand for each of us. And so the message
today is titled. It is what it is. It is what
it is. And we're going to read verse
number 11 of Revelation 22. If I didn't tell you, sorry,
Revelation 22, I figured you all knew. Verse number 11, he that is unjust,
let him be unjust still. And he that is righteous, let.
I'm sorry, I skipped a line. Let's start over. He that is
unjust, let him be unjust still. He that is filthy, let him be
filthy still. And he that is righteous, let
him be righteous still. And he that is holy, let him
be holy still. Let's pray. Father, we thank
you, Lord, for your word. We thank you for the opportunity to open it this morning.
And we pray, Father, that you'd speak to our hearts, Lord, that
you deal with the need of every person, Lord, Not only would
you deal with the need, but that you would just draw us to yourself
that we might respond as we ought to help us Lord to be pleasing
in your sight and glorifying you in all that we do in Jesus
name. Amen, you may be seated. You
may be seated. You might guess there are four
points today because there are four major mate. English, there
are four major statements in the text. And so
I have slightly changed them so that they are one word points. OK, so if you're taking notes
and you care about what points or what, you know, we've got
justice, purity, righteousness and holiness. All right. So I
simplified it in that way. But I want to give the context. Of course, we're in Revelation
chapter number 22. Y'all know what's happened so far in the
Bible and in history and in prophecy and in future things. What's
happened so far? Everything, right? Everything
has happened at this point in the book of Revelation. There
is nothing more to happen on this planet than has happened.
At this point in the book of Revelation, this planet has completed
its course and been destroyed and it's done. All right. By
this time in the book of Revelation, the heaven and the earth have
passed away and God has made a new heaven and a new earth
and a new Jerusalem. By this time in the book of Revelation,
we are in eternity future. We have gone through all the
time that we're going to have here, and the statement that
is made is made in the context that there is now no possibility
of changing anything that's already passed. And so if you were just
or unjust, you will at that point be in that same state, and there's
nothing you can do to change it at that point. If you were
filthy or pure, At that point. No change in it. If you were righteous or unrighteous
at that point, there's no changing it. If you were. What's that
last one? Holy. It's on the next page on
my notes. If you were holy or unholy. There's no changing it by this
point. There's no changing, and that's
why the title of the message today is it is what it is, because
at that point that is exactly what he's saying. It is what
it is. Everything is settled. All the works that are to be
done and recorded are done and recorded, and it's done. It is
what it is. And so we're going to go through
each of these. And. Try to keep it simple. We're
going to go through each of these. And review and look at this,
but the theme really of the message actually isn't so much like the
fatalism. It is what it is, but it's actually
the other side of that. And that is 2nd Corinthians 6
two says for he sayeth I have heard thee in a time accepted. And in the day of salvation have
I secured thee Behold now is the accepted time behold now
is the day of salvation And so the theme today the point today
is that that now is the time now if you're gonna do anything
and it For the whole message if you're gonna do anything Now's
the time and so I forgot to mention an announcement. We do have a
a We do have a meeting of procrastinators
anonymous tomorrow, and we will send out a notification that
it has been moved to another time. So that is to a later date. So anyhow, we can't live that
way though. but we unfortunately do all too
often. Oh, I'll put it off, I'll do
it next week, I'll do it next year, I'll get it done by the
time I'm 20, I'll get it done by the time I'm 30, I'll get
it done by the time I'm 40. When the kids grow up, I'll do
this, when this, now I understand there are some things that you
can do during certain seasons of life and some things that
you can do better at other seasons of life, that's fine, but you
know, it's like, oh, I'll go back to the gym in January, right? Or I'll start eating right on
Monday. Or I'll plan for something on
this day. You know, if there's something
that you would like to do in the future, do it now. If it's something that can be,
like for example, I'll eat right tomorrow. I know I'm talking
about diet and health and stuff, whatever. I'll eat right tomorrow.
Yep, and you'll say tomorrow. I'll eat right tomorrow. Do it today. I will focus on
winning souls once I start deputation for the mission field. Wrong.
You won't. If you're going to go to the
ministry, if you're going to go and do ministry, you need
to be doing ministry now. I'll tell my family after I clean
up my life. Well, guess what? How long does
it take to clean up your life? The whole life, pretty much,
but you want to be a good platform
for the gospel, but you can decide right now.
Okay, next time I'm tempted, I'm not going to do it. Next
time God promises me to do something, I'm going to do it. And then
when that opportunity arises, do what you said you'd do. And
then you can go back to when you decided and say, see, I decided
that day that when this happens, that's what I'm going to do.
Right. Now is the accepted time. Of course, we're talking about
salvation here, but this applies to other things in our lives
as well. So first point here is justice. He that is unjust,
let him be unjust still. Again, this is not a declaration
that if you're not right with God, stay wrong. This is a declaration
that by this time in civilization and history and the timeline,
by this time, if you are unjust there, you're not changing that.
Yeah, you're already enjoying the consequences of your life
and your decisions. It may not be a lot of pleasure
in enjoyment, but you're definitely already receiving your just reward. So, he that is unjust, let him
be unjust still. Definition of justice here, I
just put down, justice means being upright and righteous in
our dealings. To be unjust is to act in ways
that oppose God's righteousness. Alright? In Micah 6, verse number
8, I believe that was our theme verse for the year last year,
says, He hath showed thee, O man, what is good, and what doth the
Lord require of thee but to do justly, and to have mercy, and
to walk humbly with thy God." God requires that we walk justly. This is the expectation. Now, that is a matter of our
walk, our life, our practice. God wants us to walk justly. Why do people remain unjust? Those are good points to add
to the message. I just have two. There are other
reasons like you all have already given us. People remain unjust
because they have hard hearts. In Proverbs 29 in verse number
one, it says he that being often reproved hardeneth his neck.
Shall suddenly be destroyed in that without remedy. This is
what we're dealing with in our text. That He that is unjust,
let Him be unjust still. There's no remedy. There's no
remedy at that point. The remedy is today. Refusal
to accept Christ. Go over to John chapter 3. He's still waiting by the well
today. John chapter 3. It says, verse number 14, And as Moses
lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the
Son of Man be lifted up, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God
sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that
the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on him
is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten
Son of God. Verse number 19, and this is
the condemnation that light is come into the world. And men
loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. The reason that man decides to
stay unjust is because he loves his sin, because his deeds are
evil. He refuses to come to the light
of the gospel. So there's a warning with this,
a warning with this. There is no second chance to
change from injustice after this life. All you get. Is now. In fact, really, so we often
say, well, all you get is this life, you know, your 70 years,
your 80 years, your 90 years, you know, you get maybe your
100 years, whatever all you gets this life. But no, that's not
true. All you have in terms of making
decisions for the Lord, the making a decision to become justified
by the work of Christ at Calvary, that decision is made and only
ever made now. That decision is never made in
the future. It is always made now. And when
you made it in the past, it was made now at that time. As the Bible says, now is the
accepted time. I know a lot of people say it
says today is the day of salvation. It doesn't say that it says now
is the day of salvation. It gets even more specific than
today. Now is the day of salvation. That's right. And he said, if
I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto myself. And as he draws,
as he as as Pastor G talked about in Sunday school, as he convinces
us or convicts us of sin, righteousness and judgment. That very moment
is the time. It is the accepted time while
he is. And I'm trying not to read the
last verse that I put in the conclusion, but or quote it.
It's our it's our memory verse, by the way, while there is time
while it is today. Now is the time to be saved. Now is the time to get right. Not later. Hey, not at the altar
call. Now is the time. The altar call
is at least 35, 40, 60, 80, 2 hours from now. I don't know.
You might not live to the altar call. I might preach for the
rest of your life. Actually, probably, this is going
to be short. But don't wait. If God is dealing
with your heart, now is the time. Now is the time. You say, well,
I can't go up there. Do it there. Number two, purity,
purity, he that is filthy, let him be filthy still. He that
is filthy, filthy, let him be filthy still. It's not going
to be time to clean up. After the fact. Filthiness refers
to the moral and spiritual impurity, rejecting the cleansing work
of Christ. In Isaiah 64, verse number 6,
it says, But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are
as filthy rags, and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities,
like the wind, have taken us away. It is filthy. Let it be filthy
still. Benjamin Franklin said, cleanliness is next to godliness.
That's not biblical, by the way. That's not Bible. That's not
Bible. It is biblical, though. It is biblical. Uncleanness,
uncleanness or filthiness has to do with the dirtiness of our
sin. the wretchedness and the rank
disgustingness of our sin. God does not view your sin as
a mistake. He does not view your sin as
something that you just, oops, it was an accident. Your sin
is disgusting in the eyes of God. And it should be disgusting
in your eyes as well. If you decide that you're going
to remain filthy, you will be filthy still after this life. There is no cleaning it. There's a need for cleansing
now by the blood of Jesus Christ. Isaiah said, come now, let us
reason together. Though your sins be as scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow. Though they be as crimson, they
shall be as wool. Become and be cleansed. Hebrews chapter 9 verse number
13 says, For if the blood of bulls and of goats and the ashes
of an heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifyeth to the purifying
of the flesh, Right all this clean in the body. Cleaning of
the flesh, sanctifying the flesh. How much more verse number 14? How much more shall the blood
of Christ who through the eternal spirit offered himself without
spot? Purge your conscience. From dead
works to serve the living God. We can have purity of heart and
of mind and of soul by the blood of Christ. We can have purity. Now, if you're born again, you've
already been saved, but you've sinned and there's impurity in
your life and there's filthiness of the flesh that's going on.
I want to remind you, as Paul did in 1 Corinthians 6, that
that is not what we That is not what we are called to. That is
not what we're supposed to be about. But I want to remind you,
though, that there is a fact of your position if you're born
again. And then I want to remind you that there is an opportunity
to cleanse the practice as well, but your position. So he says
here, he says, No, you're not. Verse number nine of First Corinthians,
chapter six. No, you're not. That the unrighteous
shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Be not deceived. Neither
fornicators nor adulterers, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor
abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor
drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners shall inherit the
kingdom of God. That's a whole bunch of dirtiness. And such were some of you. You
see positionally. You're born again positionally.
You were. You're not anymore. Don't go
back to those things. Such were some of you, but ye
are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name
of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. That cleansing, that washing,
that being clean and whole. Man, it feels good to be clean,
doesn't it? We used to do these men's Bible studies with McGregor
Road, and we'd go for two, three days, whatever, and you're out
there, and the best you can do is clean up with like a baby
wipe, you know? You come home and you're just
so filthy. And you just I mean, you've been
out there shooting guns and swimming in a pond or something and crawling
around in the mud and sleeping on the ground and doing building
fires and doing all these things. And you're just so dirty. Right. And you get home. And you just, you don't care
what else is going on, you want to get to some running water
and get clean. And it feels good to be clean,
doesn't it? Remember when I used to do I
used to work in a machine shop, rebuilding engines. I don't know
anything about your engine, don't ask me. Maybe I do, but it's
been a long time. So I would tear down these engines
and all the way down to like all of their individual pieces,
right? You'd have nuts and bolts and
pans and trays and, The block and all these little pieces of
pistons and rocker arms and all these things and I put them in
this big wash tank and Close it and I can't remember what
they called that but anyhow it would wash With some solvent
and wash it all up and get all that grime off and we take it
out and I'd say this is kind of nice now we can further clean
it and then I'd get a wire brush air hose air hose on with a wire
wire brush thing and Clean it all up, you know get it all nice
and shiny and sparkly and everything the downside to doing that all
day long is you become that grimy nasty engine by the end of the
day and Just in case you eat at fast food I would like to
remind you or let you know that when I would finish that job
I would leave and after trying to wash my hands and arms the
best I could, and I would go work at Arby's, and I would make
your lunch. And... Now, for the most part, everything
that was gonna come off, came off, except for my skin. And that tried to sometimes too.
Eventually I decided that it was not a good idea to do both
of those things. Because it was so hard to get
I would have to spend 40 minutes trying to just clean my hands
so that I don't go to work and they're looking at me like I
Even changed my job like from doing stuff toward back to going
to the front and then I'm at the register But then I'm standing
there at the register I probably have grease on my face and I've
got grease on my hands and up my elbow back here where I didn't
see it, you know, and I'm just you know punching in their their
order and whatever and But, man, there's a time when
you clean up. It just feels good. It just feels
good. By the way, when we've been born
again, you remember the day you got saved? What it felt like
to be that clean? I mean, it was like squeaky clean. It was like a newborn baby clean. And I know it's kind of messy,
but it was like cleaned up newborn baby clean, OK? And you had that
innocence and that cleanness and you had that that feeling
of wholeness and and and the guilt of sin lifted off of you
and and the I'm not trying to just be about the feeling here,
but hey, it feels good to be clean. Feels good not to be filthy,
right? And so time goes on. And sometimes we we go and we
get I don't know if you can see but I've got dust on my shoes
here. Brand new shoes, man. We were Friday night. We pulled
the camper up to New Chicago and Brother Chavez said, hey,
just park it in the yard. It's fine. It's like, OK, how
do I get there? He said, just take take the alleyway and then
you go up a little hill and in the yard. I'm like, all right,
great. So pull up the hill. Isaac, did you get did you end
up getting video or pictures of that? All right. You got to
share that with me. All right. So pulled the camper
up the hill and the truck said, I like this spot. And it just
started sinking. And the sand was like, I don't
know why, but up there in that area, the whole yard was sand. It was all sand. So it was just. And so the back tire of the truck
was this deep in sand. Yeah, it was great. I had to
get up at 345 the next morning. And so I'm like, OK, so what
do we do? Let's see. No, AAA's not helping. I called
Brother Chavez, and I told him, I'm sorry, but you don't have
a yard anymore. It's gone, it's all gone now.
We're moving it around, whatever. Well, we ended up, long story,
long story. We ended up dropping the camper,
taking the truck. Somehow, we got the thing lifted,
and it was like, so the camper's on a hill, and yeah, so we dropped
the camper. oh yeah and then the thing goes
in the ground like the the the tongue lift goes down the ground
i'm like oh man so i try to use the jacks that are on the camper
to lift it up and so i start lifting it up and then the bumper
is going into the ground on the other side of the alley Like,
cause there's a hill over there. And so they're hand digging,
trying to get the space under the bumper so that I can lift
the front up high enough to get something under that tongue thing.
And so I found, I remembered I had an entrenching tool in
my truck. It's a, like a army fold up army shovel. Yeah. And so we, I gave that
to Isaac and he goes digging back there. And, and, and then
we finally, we got it lifted up and then we put it on a thing
and I'm like, there's no way to get this out of here. So I
pulled the truck out. And I just hooked the chain up. I dragged
it off of the wood, went back, back into the ground, but it
was sand. So I just dragged it through the sand and big old
whatever. So I'm like running around getting
sand and everything all up in my brand new shoes. I didn't
even think about the shoes. I was trying to deal with all this
stuff. And so we're getting these, we're getting this thing out
of here. Eventually we got it loose and
backed it back out in the street. We took another route and weaved
through the trees and then got up there and we were good. And
so we had to, and then we got everything set and Brother Chavez
pulled up. And I was like, hey, hey man,
brother Chavez is here. And so everybody ran in the,
yeah, everybody ran in the camper and they're, you know, getting
things going so we can get ready for bed. Cause it had gotten
late by that time. And so brother Chavez pulled up and he walks
over and he's got a bag like this. I mean, you know, when
you, when you see a bag like this, like a little shopping
bag from a Hispanic man, a guy from Mexico, he's walking up
and it's a bag and you can tell it's got weight to it. And he's
like, here you go, brother. And he hands it to me. I'm like,
oh, it was it was 10 tacos like steak tacos. They were like heavy
tacos. And I was like, oh, thank you,
brother. Amen. That was nice. Now, none
of that has anything to do with this message, except. in life well not from that in
life in life as things happen and we make dumb decisions like
driving up a hill with a camper and I mean the hill was it wasn't
a big hill it was like maybe this high Like about as high
as this, okay? But it was like, you know, the
bottom of the hill was not very far, so it was kind of steep.
And so that, you know, that's that. That's what happens. But
sometimes we make dumb decisions, like sin. We decide to go after
lust, or we decide to go after sinful pleasures of life, or
we decide to covet, we decide to be proud, or we decide to
choose to sin against, you know, lie and do these things against
our families or against our friends or against our neighbors. Or
we decide to do things against God. We decide to reject God
or to ignore God in our lives even after we've been cleansed,
even after we've been saved. And our feet get dirty. Right? That's the picture when Jesus
washed the feet of the disciples. was that you're clean, but you
get your feet dirty, and you need to clean those feet off,
right? And as a believer, we really,
we need to stay clean, right? I don't know what I'm gonna do
about the dust. These are, I just got them. No, that ruins them. I think I'm gonna use a shop
vac and an air hose. Blow it off and suck the stuff
out at the same time. Just bang it. Alright, I'm just
kidding. Not right now. She said take
them off and smack them together. Probably would. I did kind of
shake them a little bit. But anyhow, send them to my mom's
house. They'll be good. They're only
$22 shoes. I mean, I just ordered some more.
But you know, you don't just throw stuff away and buy something
new. I'm glad God doesn't do that to us, right? We get dirty.
We get dirty and God doesn't just throw us away and buy somebody
else. Amen. But he'll, he'll continue to
buy. Amen. He'll, he will purchase us as,
as, or he, he will purchase another if one will repent and trust
the gospel. So, that filthiness though, in
our lives, and of course we, we often talk about this in terms
of getting saved. But as believers, we often get
back into the world. We ought not to do that. But
we often get back into the world and it's contrary to who we actually
are as believers. But as we do that, we feel dirty
because we're supposed to, because we are. And that filthiness of
the flesh has to be cleansed and has to be dealt with and
taken away. And so we have to go to 1 John
1 and verse 9 where it says, if we confess our sins, He is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
of all unrighteousness. That is the key there is to be
cleaned by the blood of Jesus Christ. And I want to go back
and go to that passage I just told you to go to. So but the
verse a couple of verses before that, it says, but if we walk
in the light as he is, as he is in the light, we have fellowship
one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ, his son cleanseth
us from all sin. You see, that is the walk. That
is the way that's that's what we ought to be doing is is as
we are clean, we need to stay clean and get cleaned again. Right. Not saved again. We just
need to keep on getting cleaned up. Right. You don't. And by
the way, you can't clean yourself. Yeah, that's right. You got to
go to the pressure washer of the word of God. Amen. and apply
the water of the Word, amen, and the water of the Word cleanses,
and the blood atones, and we can be made clean and not filthy
anymore. But if you haven't done that
by the time we get to the text time, you're still going to be
filthy for all of eternity. Number three, righteousness.
He that is righteous, let him be righteous still. to be righteous
involves living to God's standard. which comes through faith in
Christ. To be righteous, it involves living to God's standard. Now,
again, there's positional righteousness and there's practical righteousness.
Positional righteousness takes place because of what Jesus did
for us at Calvary. We are positionally righteous
if we trust His work. If we trust His work and we're
born again, we are positionally righteous. But then there's practical
righteousness. That's walking according to what
His Word says. Looking like what we actually
are. Right? And so this is very similar to
this clean-unclean thing. Unfortunately though, some people
get that flipped around and they think it's about looking like
a certain way and not about being. We can dress ourselves up and
make ourselves look a certain way and then not really be that.
And by the way, we get really good at being righteous in the
areas that everyone can see. And then we get really good at
hiding the matters that everyone can't see. And we are and we
fail the grace of God in that sense, or we we we do a disgrace
to what God has made us. But our our righteousness again,
it's it. It should be by faith in Romans
322. Even the righteousness of God,
which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that
believe for there is no difference. But then we need to live out
that righteousness. Not to be saved, but because we're saved.
In Ephesians chapter 2, we see in verse number 8, for by grace
are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it
is the gift of God. Verse 9, not of works, lest any
man should boast. And then in verse number 10,
it says, for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto
good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk
in them. That tenth verse there, it brings us back around to,
of course, we are saved, not by works, but we're saved then
to work. We're saved and we become His
workmanship. And He works in us, as Paul said
later in another epistle, that He works in us both to will and
to do of His good pleasure. And how that looks? How that
looks is we begin to do the right things. Again, not to say that
just looking like it is the right way. We have to be it. That's why I mentioned when I
started listing sins, I wasn't listing the most common ones
people think about. I was listing like what? Pride.
And the things that people don't always see directly. The things
that most of the time we don't see ourselves doing. But really the root of all sin,
even the ones that everybody sees, it's rooted in pride and
selfishness. Why do we do what we do? Pride
and selfishness. When we do the wrong thing, OK,
why do we do what we do when we do the right thing? Well,
grace and faith. But living in righteousness.
In Philippians 1 Paul says in this, I pray that your love would
abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgment. That you may approve things that
are excellent and that you may be sincere and without offense
till the day of Christ being filled with the fruits of righteousness. Which are by Jesus Christ unto
the glory and praise of God. He that is righteous, let him
be righteous still. In that day, if you, by the righteousness
of Jesus Christ, have become righteous, in that day you will
be righteous still. But you'll also remember whether
or not you lived it over here. And there won't be anything you
can do to change it. At the youngest possible age,
every one of us really should plan our deathbed experience. What do I not, what do I want
to say, what may I say in my deathbed? I regret doing that.
Plan on not saying that because it doesn't apply. plan on when
it's our time to go. We don't look back and say, I
wish I had. Well, if you wish you had, it's
too late now. The time to do what you wish
you had done is now, is before it's too late. Because there
will come a day when it's too late. I'm telling you, time flies
by. Melissa said last night, she's
like, they say that time goes faster as you get older, and
it's absolutely true. It's absolutely true. We think
about sometimes back in the day, we would think, man, this day
is really long. Man, would he stop preaching? It's so long.
This little time, oh, it's so long, it's so long. And y'all,
I'm getting old, so I don't think in times of a few minutes of
preaching. I think in times of decades now. But but that's the thing, though,
as we get as we get older, we think less in times of like,
you know, I find that there are things that used to bother me
so much at the very moment that they're going on. But now, and
maybe it's age, maybe it's maturity. I think it's probably more maturity
than age. Not to say that I'm mature, I've got a lot of growing
up to do. But as I grow, I find that things that used to just
really, there are other things that are contributing factors,
but things that used to be like, I'm like, would this just like,
You know, used to, remember the days, and sometimes, you know,
we're thinking back to remember the days and it's last week,
but remember the days when you're like, I've got bills due and
I don't have money. And you're like, I'm gonna die
because these bills aren't gonna be paid. Like, that's, in your
mind, you're like, I'm going to die. I'm gonna, like, life's
over. I can't pay my internet bill. So life is over. I'm going to
die. I paid my internet bill, by the
way, but anyhow, it's auto pay, so I don't even know when it,
anyway, so, but I remember days that crisis like that, and by
the way, as far as growing, this is for any crisis, that you're
like, this is the end of the world. Like, well, you know what?
Even if you die, it's not the end of the world. there's still
at least 1,007 years. So, you're, I mean, till the
world ends, at least 1,007 years. So, you know, if I don't make
it through this one, I got to think about those that are going
to be here after I'm gone. What's, you know, what are they
going to do with this? You know, it really takes things down a
few notches of concern and worry and all that. You just like,
you know, it doesn't matter. What matters is, well, if I'm
not going to be here, what can I do about that? Nothing. But am I doing what I can do
about what's going to happen when I'm gone? Like these things. I can't change those things.
I can't change. Who's? John unjust or just I
can't change who's filthy or or clean. I can't change who's
righteous or unrighteous. I can't change who's holy or
unholy. In that day. But I can do something to affect
it today. And you know what? I can't change it after I die.
But I can do everything I can until my last breath. Now, right and so. This matter of of the righteousness
we want to continue this. We want to. We want to make sure
that that whatever we're doing that God has us doing that it
doesn't end. Because something happened to
us. right, that it keeps on. And as I was saying, we were
talking about how time just flies by. And you start planning, as
I mentioned earlier, a brother that I know, you know, he was
like, when I turn this age, I'm going to do this. And this is
what the next 10 years of my life is going to look like. And
I'm like, man, you planning 10 years out. And then I turned 40. And
I was like, Hmm, That's a really good idea, actually. And so you
plan, OK, what am I going to do from 40 to 50? What am I going
to do when I'm 50? And then the 50 to 60 time. And then what
am I going to do from 60 to 70? And am I going to make it from
70 to 80? And what am I going to do, right? And then when I'm
80, I'm going to say, who am I? And who are you and what are
you talking to me for? But so, those things are important. But when we think about what
are we gonna do in the future, we have to think about what am
I doing right now? Because I can't just plan 10
years. I can't plan my 50s if I don't plan my 40s. I can't
plan my 40s if I don't plan today. Right? And I know I'm talking
about planning. You know. Boast not thyself of
tomorrow, for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. So
you don't know what tomorrow is going to be. But you can plan
today. Now you can plan for those things,
but you can't necessarily expect the morrow. So. He that is righteous, let him
be righteous still. Let's be filled with the fruits
of righteousness. Continue in righteousness, and
then that continues in eternity. Number four, holiness. He that
is holy, let him be holy still. So the nature of holiness is
to be set apart for God. To be holy is to be set apart
for God. Now, contrary to popular belief,
to be holy is not to check off a whole bunch of boxes of things
that you do or don't do. To be holy is to be set apart
for God. Will some boxes get checked along
the way? Probably, yeah. But living a life that's pleasing
to Him, is to be fully yielded to Him. If He says it, you're
doing it. If He says don't do it, there's
no argument there. No big deal. I know. I'm not
to do that. He says in 1 Peter 1, verse number
16, Be ye holy, for I am holy. Romans 12, verse 1 says, I beseech
you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which
is your reasonable service. It's not an unreasonable thing
for God to ask us to give back to Him what He has
given to us for service in His work. We present our bodies a living
sacrifice. That's pretty holistic, that we present our bodies a
living sacrifice. What's not included there? Now, does that
mean that, well, we just go through the motions with our bodies and
our soul and spirit's not involved? It's just our body. No, we present our bodies a living
sacrifice because that's what we have to work with, right?
You can't just be like, all right, I'm gonna lay the body over here,
I'm gonna go over here and work for God. You who's gonna go over here
and work for God? You need to take the body with you, right?
Hey, if you're with us in spirit today, we can't see you. And
you can't do anything. And you're not of any good to
anybody. So, I know some people are watching online. I'm with
you in spirit. It's okay. We love you. Apply the message. If you're supposed to be here,
be here next time. You can't be here now because
it's now and you're not here. So that's the way things work.
If you didn't do what you're supposed to do now, you're not
doing it. That's right. And if you don't
do it now, you've already messed up. So, be here the next now,
okay? But you have to prepare for the
next now, all right? The next now, yes, you have to
prepare for the next now. Every time I say that, I picture
these purple little square things, little cube things here, now
and laters. I don't know why every I keep
saying now and then now Not now and later now and now again Because
I never I never I never ate one of those later. It was always
now Whenever I was eating it was now I mean Anybody else eat
it now and later later. No you eat it now you always
eat now exactly I mean I Well, but when you eat it later,
the later is now. So it's, you know, anyhow, the
reason they call them that's because you couldn't actually
eat. Anyhow, that is not an endorsement. But if y'all want to pay us for
the for the advertisement, you can I don't know if they're even
in business anymore. So what do you say? Willy Wonka? Didn't he die a
long time ago? OK. Anyhow, so. We have a promise here that if
we if we are holy in that day going to keep on being holy. You can mess it up now. And you
can get right now. But you can't change it. The
state that you are in after the judgment you will forever be
in that state. I'm not talking about Indiana. The conditions of the people
at the time of this verse are final. Final. If unjust, filthy, unrighteous. Unholy, there is no opportunity
to change after this life. So, Hebrews 3. Hebrews chapter 3. Sorry, I've transitioned from
the fourth point to the conclusion, by the way. Hebrews chapter 3. This is your memory verse for
the week while it is said. Today. If you will hear his voice. Harden not your hearts as in
the provocation. Now's the time. Now is the time. We must choose to seek justice,
purity, righteousness, and holiness. The time is fleeting and eternity
is final. Now is the time. What are you
going to do?
