Amen. Thank you for tuning us
in. I'm Darrell Bailey, Service for Christ. Amen. As we get back
together for our Zachariah Bible study, here tonight we'll be
in Zachariah chapter 6. Amen. Remember, as you take and
find the New Testament of Matthew, you'll go to the left of Malachi
and right to the left of Malachi. You'll find the book of Zechariah.
We'll be in the sixth chapter of the book of Zechariah. It's
the 38th book between Haggai and Malachi. Here, tonight, we
stand the word as we look at the book of Zechariah. Tonight,
Zechariah, his name means God remembers. 1 verses 1 through
15 here October the 9th 20,000 24 the 7th of Tishri 5785 of
the Hebrew calendar. No, we're noting that this past
Week that the Hebrew calendar year changed to 5785 from 5784.
Amen here tonight. We'll start off with our time of prayer and There was somebody who was trying
to call me right before I come on, and my apologies if not getting
to that phone call. And it may be someone that they
needed prayer tonight. And even though that we may not
know who that name is, we will be praying for those ones that
are calling that has a need. We wanna pray especially for
that storm that's coming in on the West Coast in the next few
hours that hit Tampa and coming in across Florida. as Hurricane
Milton does all this damage. We continue to pray for our North
Carolinians, all of the death that is up there, the destruction
that has happened with them, along with continuing to pray
for our own church family at Bethel Crossroads, our pastor
Keith Dipsy and First Lady Amy. along with Rusty and Lynn Lanier
and all of our deacons and all of our fellow churches, everyone
that's going through something right now. Just one of my contacts
for our chemicals at the college today, his father, stepfather
just recently passed away, Brother Allen. And so I want you to continue
to remember tonight the needs, especially this storm that's
gonna come in in a couple hours, for all of those needs. For the
person that was trying to call me just before I came on, again,
my apologies, as we pray for whatever that need may be tonight,
the intercessor. Remember, when we pray tonight,
that prayer don't have to be beautiful. It don't have to be
this. It needs to be a prayer of heartfelt. And so tonight
when we pray, amen, we're not praying to be beautiful and all
of this, we're praying to be heartfelt. And we ask God to
intervene in the needs, especially for those of last week of the
husband and wife. The husband got out of the hospital
this past week, and he needs a kidney transplant. His wife
as well needs a miracle in the making as well, she has pancreatic
cancer. and all of the ones that are
going through these same type of difficulties. My brother in
Christ that I work with that needs to be able to get over
a difference where he's on a medicine that he's not able to eat. My
brother in Christ as well that's had a stroke. I lift him up and
his wife and family. And so many that when we get
to looking at the needs, that they're upon many needs tonight. And I know that if we do it this
way, as if we were in church, if maybe even though that you're
looking at me and I can't see you, you have a spoken request. I don't care where you are and
you're just watching me. Hey, just lift up your hand wherever
you are tonight. Wherever you are, you say, well,
man, nobody sees it that the God does. God knows what that
need is tonight and wherever you are. And I want to ask God
to intervene across wherever you are tonight, that we'll be
praying for you. no matter where you're at, amen? God knows your need before you
ask it. And so he said that we're to
knock and to ask so that we can receive tonight. So we wanna
start out with prayer tonight. And especially again, I wanna
pray for those that are lost, that need salvation. We'll be
talking about the budding of the branch for building the temple. Again, we're dealing with this
temple. But in ancient times, when we
go back, this is one of the most, I believe, the most important
focuses tonight that we look at when we're talking about Zechariah
chapter six tonight, amen. And so, Zechariah is basically
receiving a vision from God. And here is one of the most powerful
scenes because when we look at it, Zechariah's standing on the
threshold of heaven and earth. He's seeing four chariots pulled
by horses of different colors, red, black, white, dappled, which
is spotted, which is different from the revelation horses. But he knows these horses are
more than just beasts. They're agents of divine will.
with destinies and missions that are unknown to him. And Zechariah's
trying to piece together the clues of what these colors represent,
what the chariots are doing, who controls them. And so, we
look at, in a few minutes, of entering that vision of Zechariah.
And so, tonight, we'll be dabbling some into Revelation tonight
because This is the scene for the future, that right when the
seven seals are being broken, These horses will be coming in
in the prophetic of Zachariah. This is very powerful Bible study
tonight. And so I know that your needs
that God can meet them. I can't, I can't save anybody. I can't do anything, but I have
the faith that trust the Lord, that whatever it is that you're
going through tonight, we believe the Lord can intervene. And you
know, one thing more than I should be anything else, whether it's
a Bible teacher or a preacher, is I'm a prayer warrior. I'm an intervener. And every
one of us, as men and women of God, are intercessors, as I say. We're intercessors. And so we
want to pray for you tonight. Let's open up. We don't have
to be fancy with our prayer. We can be simple. I love praying
the scriptures. Amen. The Psalms as well. And
I thank God as we pick our text tonight out of Zachariah. Let's
pray and let's ask the Lord to intervene. Heavenly Father, tonight
there is someone, Father, that's listening, that Lord, that the
death angel has come into their home, or Lord, as one of my other
vendors that came by today, his father has prostate cancer. Lord,
as I have some of my relatives, as I'm careful not to say any
names, but I know who has been tuning in, and I have some of
my own kinfolk that have cancer. Lord, I pray for them tonight,
all of those that are dealing with cancer in some form, and
Lord, I pray whatever part of their body Lord, I ask you to
be the great physician tonight to intervene. Lord, tonight we're
praying, Lord, Father, and asking you, Lord, to do what no one
else can. Whether the doctors have already
given up hope, Lord, we're not here, Lord, to try to prolong
anything, Lord, but we're simply asking you, Father, Lord, for
that miracle in the making. For those that have no hope,
but Lord, as we ask for these ones that are going through cancer,
illness, death, Lord, heart problems, Father, diabetes, issues of this
body, Father, that are afflicting I pray, first of all, for the
salvation of those that are lost. And Lord, according to your word,
Lord Father, that if we don't take you at your word, if we
don't believe in accepting you as our savior, then it's blasphemy
against the Holy Ghost. It's total rejecting you. And
those tonight, Lord, that need salvation, I want to pray for
them first and foremost because, Lord, that's the most important
thing. Lord, that gets my attention everywhere we go. Lord, I pray,
Lord, for one of our instructors' mother, that's 75 years old,
Father, that, Lord, she's lost. And Lord, none of these folks
want to even hear anything about Jesus. But Lord, with the convicting
power of the Holy Spirit, you can change their decisions. You can bring them into the family
of God. And Lord, I pray for the many
years of pastoring that Lord, so many times, that lord that
someone would have cancer and they would wait to the very final
moments even some of my own kinfolk that lay on their deathbed that
they waited to the very last minute lord to try to accept
jesus lord i pray lord that lord they'd not wait any longer but
right here tonight Lord, that they would ask the Lord to come
into their heart and life. And Lord, tonight, ask Jesus
to be the keeper of their souls. I pray that just honest, simple
prayer tonight, Father, that you'll save them by your marvelous
grace. They'll step out on faith, Lord, with the convicting power
of the Holy Spirit. Because, Lord, without the convicting
power of the Holy Spirit, we think we can just get saved anytime
we want to. But it doesn't work that way.
And I pray God tonight for the upcoming final days in the future
of the tribulation where this kicks into. Lord, where even
the Jewish remnant, there'll only be two thirds. And so, Father,
that Lord, that when we look at all of the death in the coming
days of the future, the coming death that has happened up and
around from the first storm, I pray that this storm that is
coming in, that you, Lord, will deviate that storm, Lord, to
protect life, to keep it from, Lord, endangering people's lives. I don't care if they're Florida,
I don't care if they're South Georgia, they're precious in
your sight. All people, all souls are precious
in your sight. And so I pray for the safety
of those ones where that storm comes into their path, Father.
That, Lord, that you would turn it, that you would move it, Father,
that it would move out of the danger of Those Lord, I know
I'm asking for something impossible, but God you can do anything and
tonight I pray for the path of that storm that God that as you
move it may it move in the direction that Lord that it would least
likely Lord hurt the lives of those Florida's down there and
whatever path and whatever wins and whatever that it decides
to do Lord as it comes up through off the west coast and Lord inland
father in these hours to come I pray for the safety and the
refuge of those ones, and Lord, especially for those that don't
know Jesus that's lost. I pray for their salvation tonight,
wherever they are. I pray for them, Lord, as our
pastor goes in and out before the flock every day, every week,
every month, year after year, all pastors, Lord, that they're
out there, Lord, laboring for the lost souls that need salvation. And I pray again, Lord, that
you would touch our pastors, our shepherds, our under shepherds
and use them use our pastor lord keith and lord i pray all pastors
in the name of jesus that you'll use them father lord as they
continue their intercessors for the sick and lord they care and
they've been placed in those positions for a reason and so
lord i pray god Lord for all of our under shepherds as they
go in and out and as they deal with prayer chains and as they
deal with the many sick those with cancer father those that
are lost those father that the death angels coming in those
with Lord all types of sickness Lord whether it's a heart disease
whether there's a trouble with diabetes father whatever that
it is tonight I lift them up to you and I Put them in your
care tonight, Father, that you would be that great physician
that would intervene. Lord, we don't have to know all
this scripture that we play. We just simply pray tonight that
you will be done, Father, just like you did Gideon. Lord, you
said you got too many men. Lord Father, it's not by our
strength, it's nothing that we do, but it's by your strength
tonight that we simply ask you to intervene in the areas, those
hands that were raised tonight, the churches that are out there
tonight that are being represented under shepherds and father the
many thousands of people across this nation. I pray for the upcoming
Lord for our leaders in this nation. I pray for our current
leaders. I say nothing with any prejudice
either way tonight, because Lord, we pray for all, whether they're
Republican, whether they're Democrat. And Lord, even one of the most
difficult things for me is even if they're liberal tonight, because
Lord, you love all, everyone. And Lord, as some finds it difficult,
Lord, I don't find nothing difficult when it comes to the love of
Jesus tonight. Lord, I don't care what their
political background is. Lord, I'm concerned about their
soul tonight. And Lord, I may have my own personal,
but I keep them to myself tonight, Lord, because Lord, we're here
tonight, Lord, to reach everyone that we can reach. And Lord,
with your help, and Lord, with your power, I pray that you'll
reach out and be the refuge, Lord, that we can go to. Lord,
because you're better to us than we are our own selves tonight.
And Lord, I'm glad that you can do the impossible. And so I pray
in Pacifics, not mentioning any names tonight, besides the ones
that I can mention of pastors. And Lord, I know that many of
them might not even mind it, but Lord, just trying to be considerate
of whoever may not want something. Even the lady that I worked with
for many years, Lord, that's going through cancer. I pray
for her and her family, and I pray for the families out there tonight
that are there, that are the strength behind their loved ones
that are going through the cancer, that are going through the sickness,
that are going through death tonight, in Jesus's marvelous
mighty name. Amen. Thank you tonight. As we
all pray together as intercessors, it makes it even more powerful
as you join in together tonight. Boy, the devil cannot stand that.
The demons in hell cannot stand that tonight, amen. And so, Even
we took that extra time out to pray tonight because even no
matter what with my Bible study, that's the most important part
tonight is that time of prayer. When we look at the budding of
the branch for building the temple in Zechariah chapter 6 Bible
study tonight, we see that it's split. You've got two screens
as the Hebrew of Zechariah. When we look at verses 1 through
8, God's judgment upon the nations, and what this is talking about
is the four chariots, the four type of horses that coincides
with Revelation chapter 6, that we'll briefly get into that,
because there's a lot of this that, man, I could stay on for
hours. And then the second part of verses 9 through 15, the crowning
of God's king priest, of Joshua the high priest, of two different
things. Here, as we look at tonight,
October the 9th, the 7th of Tishri, 5785 of the Hebrew calendar tonight. I'm glad Here, when we look and
realize of the prophecy of past, present, and future, we look
as Zechariah invites us into a prophetic landscape layered
with symbols and visions, divine puzzles that stretch across for
centuries, amen. And like a master of time that
loops and fragments around, Zechariah weaves together moments of Israel's
past with revelations of their future, leaving us to piece together
God's intricate plan of redemption. Written during the post-period
when the Israelites were rebuilding their shattered homeland, Zechariah's
prophecies are not simply words of comfort for a struggling nation. They are windows into the eternal. And so each vision, each symbol,
feels like a piece of a much larger puzzle. One that speaks
both of the immediate concerns of the people, the unfolding
drama of a world still waiting for its promised Messiah. And
so every passage that we look at with a vivid imagery, the
chariots pulling the winds of heaven, a crown placed upon a
priest's head. I'm telling you, as we look,
even last week of a flying scroll that signaled judgment. These
visions are more than dreams. They're cryptic messages from
God, who sees beyond the confines of time, calling his people to
repentance, renewal, and restoration. And so the complexity is breathtaking
tonight. And yet, amen, the surreal, the
heart of the message is crystal clear. God is faithful. and His promises endure. We see
the visions, understanding how they point to the Messiah and
the ultimate restorer of who He is through the prophetic glimpses
of the past, the present, and the future that we learn to see
God's hand at work in the chaos and in the beauty of our lives
currently today. And so together we look at these
ancient prophecies that offer hope, that call us into a deeper
commitment to a God who controls the passage of time itself, praise
God. And so when we look and we look
back, we see the budding of the branch for the building of the
temple, amen. And how this picture kind of
depicts the entire sixth chapter of Zechariah with the chariots
and a little bit of everything of the high priest and the thrones
and the crowns amen because Zechariah's prophetic vision presents an
unfolding of a divine plan richly adorned with symbolism and instruction
amen and so as we say again everything is about the temple tonight You're
that temple and I'm glad Zechariah, that's what I like about this
Old Testament that can reach into the New Testament here tonight
that we see and that we're reminded of here tonight through these
books of Haggai, Zechariah and Esther is the time frame in which
these come in. And so, the visions that soared
far beyond those days, I remind you again, that Zechariah saw
way beyond in this Old Testament, the coming of the Greeks, the
crucifixion of Christ, the scattering of the Jewish people, the rise
of the Antichrist, the end-time horrors that await Jerusalem,
and the return of Christ to set up a righteous kingdom on earth,
which Zechariah deals with a great deal tonight. And so, The Lord
remembers, amen. Here, as we pick off into Zechariah,
reminded of the eight visions, and here we're in the four chariots
in the sixth chapter, praise God. We remind ourselves what
we've talked about in Zechariah chapter one, the adversaries
of Israel. of the enemies, of the corruption, and the conquering
nations. Zechariah urges the people to
turn away from the sins of their forefathers, who had defiantly
rebelled against God's ways. The conquering nations, through
the vision of the red horse, the temporary oppression by foreign
nations is revealed, but the defeat is foretold in the vision
of the horns and the craftsmen, symbolizing the ultimate overthrow
of Israel's enemy. In Zechariah 2, we remind ourselves
of the glorious future of Jerusalem, a vision of a man holding a measuring
line that shows Jerusalem's divine destiny, the promise of exaltation,
the protection within that, where the city is assured of being
re-established in splendor by God's own decree. The Lord will
be a protective shield around it. assuring its security, but
the presence with that exaltation. God himself will dwell in the
heart of Jerusalem, finding it with his glory, and the reference
in that exaltation that God will select Jerusalem as his chosen
dwelling, a favored city among all. And so, Zechariah 3, the
charge to Joshua the High Priest of the accusation, Satan stands
accused of the charges against Joshua representing the Israel
sin and the cleansing because Joshua is cleansed, clothed in
pure garments because he had on the garments that look ragged
and rugged and nasty, but I'm glad that Joshua was cleansed,
clothed into pure garments, signifying God's forgiveness and restoration. And the call of Joshua's charge
that's clear to walk in the obedience as the precursor to the coming
Messiah, purity among the people and the peace of the land hinge
on that promise, based on that. And then Zechariah 4, the divine
empowerment for Zerubbabel. the vision of the golden lampstand,
the two olive trees are the source of strength that God reminds
Zerubbabel that the work will not be accomplished by human
might or power, but by his spirit, praise God. And then the service
of that strength because the divine empowerment will enable
Zerubbabel to complete the temple, a symbol of an enduring witness
that the two olive trees hint at the two witnesses of Revelation
chapter 11. embodying the testimony of truth.
And so, Zechariah 5, the Loom of Judgment, the sublime visions
that prophesied the vision of the flying scroll that reveals
the curse upon the thieves and those that profane God's name
that we talked about last time, and then the vision of the ephah,
of the measurement, that symbol of trade and commerce, that is
a metaphor for the sinful dealings of men, that in Zechariah sees
end-time Babylon echoing the judgment upon the corrupt merchants
that's described in Revelation chapter 18. That brings us up
to tonight, the enthronement of the Messiah. Thank God. Hey,
I know this is Old Testament Zechariah, but the King is coming.
It's telling us that the King is coming. He's the one that
will be coming. And even in the Old Testament
of Zechariah, beholds the vision of the chariots and the horses,
the conqueror, because these chariots signal the coming of
the King that will triumph over all the nations. The Lord of
Lord and the King of Kings, praise God. The crowning that Joshua
is that type of our Lord and Savior, the Messiah. our Lord
Jesus Christ that's crowned in a symbolic act, representing
the branch of the menorah that I talked about last time, the
title pointing to the coming of Christ, and the combined role
that the messianic king will be both priest and ruler in the
millennial kingdom, praise God, and the merging of the two offices
into one. which remember sawl did not wait
on samuel he went ahead he was supposed to wait those seven
days he got ahead of samuel went ahead and uh... did the act of
the priest and because of that god brought him out of the chapter
and brought david in and anointed david as the king because you
don't get uh... ahead of god and he got ahead
of the prophet samuel and because of that he was no longer because
why Because Saul got elected by the people because he was
six foot tall. But when Samuel went around and
he said, is there another? Hey, Jesse, is there another?
Man, Jesse said, I got one more. He's out over there in the shepherd
fields tending the sheep. Go get him, we're not even gonna
sit down until he gets over here. And thank God, he said, God told
him, said, don't you judge them by their appearance, but you
judge them by their heart. And so I thank God. We look at
the construction here that he'll build the millennial temple fulfilling
God's promises for the future reign of the righteous and through
the imagery of the prophetic decorations, Zechariah paints
a picture of judgment, restoration, and the glorious future in which
Christ reigns supreme, amen. The Knight Riders of Zechariah.
Here we begin the budding of the branch for building the temple,
praise God. God will judge the nations, the
eighth vision, the four chariots. Here we go, praise God. When
we get in. We see the comparison of Zechariah
1 from the past of the four horsemen. Red and soil and white. Then we see the red, white, black
and dappled in Zechariah 6. It is a spotted horse. Then the difference of Revelation
6. Now what is bringing this on? What is comparison? the seven
seals in just a minute. The seven seals before the trumpets,
before the bows, before everything hits the fan, the horses bringing
it all in. And it's the starting of the
breaking of the seven seals of Revelation. And so, here we have
the white, the red, the black, of the ashen or the green, all
of these. But I thank God of the comparisons
of looking at them and seeing of how each one kind of relate,
set out by God to patrol the earth. In Zechariah 6, therefore
spirits of heaven go out to patrol the earth. But in Revelation
6, called by the four living creatures around the throne.
And so the comparison of these, the seven seals, that everything
that it begins to happen right here in this time whenever the
tribulation begins to kick in. Remember, you'll be raptured
out if you're saved. If you're in the born again,
saved. And so again, the first seal,
just briefly, because I got to get back into Zechariah. Chapter
six, Revelation, the first horseman. The second seal, the second horseman.
Then we see the third seal, the third horseman, the fourth horseman
of the fourth seal, the fifth of chapter six, the martyred,
the sixth seal, that God's final wrath. Then the seventh seal
goes in Revelation chapter eight, all the way to Revelation 22,
the seven trumpets, the three and a half, and the seven bowls,
where every bit of it hits the fan. And it begins to get more
and more intense right in this timeframe. And so we come to
Zechariah six, verse one. And what we see, and I turned
and lifted up my eyes and looked and behold, there came four chariots
out from between two mountains and the mountains were mountains
of brass. And so when we look at this,
we begin to realize that Zechariah has a vision of four chariots
coming out from between two brass mountains. and the chariots driven
by different colored horses that we look at. And so, just as God
controlled these chariots to carry out his purpose, we are
reminded that God is sovereign over every nation and every event
that is in the world. and over all things where wars,
where conflicts, calamities happen, we can trust that God that remains
in control even when things seem chaotic. No matter what's happening
with this storm, you say, man, it's out of control. God is still
in control. And so when we look and realize
that here Zechariah He features a vision of four chariots emerging
from two mountains. And the chariots pulled by different
colored horses symbolizing God's judgment and sovereignty over
the earth. Verse by verse, it breaks down. And I'm glad that when we look
at it, Zechariah, as these four chariots coming from between
two mountains made of Nekoshet, Nekoshet, the Hebrew word for
brass. And so these chariots represent
God's forces of judgment, ready to carry out his will on earth. The two brass mountains signifying
the strength and the immobility, the immovability of representing
God's judgment and righteousness, amen. And so, the neckleshit,
the brass, that is associated with judgment in the Bible, amen,
that he's talking about here. And so, as the mountains, the
harem, the Hebrew word for mountain, symbolizing God's authority and
power, amen. And so, God's judgments, are
unavoidable, just as these chariots come forth from the unmovable
mountains, His divine plans will not be changed. Because in our
world today, we should live with a sense of accountability to
god knowing that his judgment is impartial and just no matter
who it is. So what is it? Even though I
pray tonight, he reigns on the just and the unjust alike. A
lot of times I say, man, that old sinner over there is getting
away with so much. No, they're not getting away
with nothing because if they don't ever come to the place
of salvation, they're gonna be destined for hell, not my version,
the word of God, for all eternity. And it's sad that when we look
and we realize what is transpiring, amen. And so let me tell you
something very powerful. The one key issue out of this
entire chapter, before I even read the other 14 verses of the
15th, listen to me. As it relates to the New Testament
Christian, in society today, right now. The prophetic vision
of Jesus as the ultimate priest and king. Here, as we get down
in verses 11 and 13. The prophet is instructed to
crown Joshua, the high priest, symbolizing the future Messiah,
who will both rule and serve as the priest in the future in
the millennial reign because it points to Jesus Christ, who
fulfills both roles as the eternal king and the high priest in the
order of Melchizedek of Hebrews chapter seven, verse 17. For
Christians today, that presents a very powerful message. about
Christ's authority and role in our lives right now, even though
this is an Old Testament book of the Minor Prophets. Jesus
as priest, he intercedes for you and I. He bridges the gap
between sinful humanity and a holy God through his sacrifice on
the cross of Calvary. Buddy, I'm telling you, the highlight
and the fresh of the cream of the crop with this right now,
that it's everything that I was saying, just one thing right
now, in case you just happen to get off and you say, I can't
listen no more of it. This tells us that Jesus as priest,
he offers comfort to every believer, knowing that we have a mediator
who understands our struggles, advocates on our behalf. Not
only Jesus as priest, but Jesus as king tonight. He reigns sovereign
over all creation and believers that are called to submit to
his lordship, according to Paul's Philippians chapter two, verses
nine through 11, amen. that in a world that often changes
Christian values out there in the world, recognizing that Jesus
as King encourages all believers to live under his rule, even
when society may push for other loyalties and ideological things
of these liberal people that are in Hollywood and that are
out there today. This dual role of Christ speaks
to balanced Christians that every one of us, as we embrace Jesus,
his sacrificial love, his priestly intercession, amen, that while
we're living under his authority, praise God, we trust him as the
ruler of all aspects of life, amen. It challenges believers
to reflect on how that we can live out our faith in both service
and obedience to Christ today. And so, I'm glad the strong warning
that goes out that God will judge the nations, and I'm glad the
clear warning of Zechariah's eighth vision aimed first at
the nations and individuals in Zechariah's day, but all who
oppose God's work and oppress his people, that the vision warns
all of us today. And even as God reveals clearly
the picture that this judgment in the form of our chariots,
these four chariots, Each with different colored horse these
chariots identified as the four spirits of angels from heaven
after Representing themselves to the Lord of all the earth. Amen. I thank God. He says I
turned I lifted up my eyes and And I thank God, he said, behold,
there came between these two mountains. In the first chariot
were red horses, and in the second chariot, black horses. And so,
when we look at this, Zachariah had a vision of four chariots
coming out from between two brass mountains. And the chariots were
driven by different colored horses. and they represent God's messengers
of judgment, messengers of judgment and his control over the earth.
And so, the red and the black and the white and the dappled
are the spotted, or as the pale in Revelation, the horses, they
symbolize war, death, victory, plagues, and calamity. reflecting
on the aspects of God's judgment on the nations. And so, even
though through the similarities of colors of Revelation, of Zechariah
1, Zechariah 6, and Revelation chapter 6, amen, today, just
as God controlled these chariots to carry out His purpose, we
today are reminded that God is sovereign over all things, all
nations, all events. And in a world where war, conflict,
calamities happen, we can trust that God remains even in control
when things seem chaotic, amen. And so they're pulled by the
different colored horses. And so we look at that first
chariot symbolizing war and bloodshed. And the black horse, the shishoreum,
the Hebrew word for a black horse, the red horse, that is a dunamim,
the Hebrew word for red. And so, the second cherub represents
death, famine, and mourning. These are the manifestations
of God, that when we look and realize that it's judgments upon
the nations today. And so, when we look at susim,
which is the word for horses, that we see, that denotes the
swiftness representing how quickly God's judgment can be executed.
Amen. And the colors red and black
that symbolize war and death in a apocalyptic time frame,
amen. And so we see the end of time
of the pages are starting to creep in here. And today we're
reminded of the real consequences of rebellion against God. Because
war and suffering still plague our world even right now. And
this verse calls us to turn to God for peace. and to reconciliate
and to face the results of living in opposition to his will because
there is so many folks out there today that are still living the
opposite of what his will should be right now and so He says,
and in the third chariot, white horses, and in the fourth chariot,
gristle, speckle, and bay horses, amen. And so, the vision that
he continues on from the two brass mountains that we look
at, amen, that he's telling us about. Here, this third chariot
is pulled by a susum, a levitim, other words, a white horse. the
Hebrew word lebanim, white, susim, horse of the Hebrew, symbolizing
the victory, the peace, and the triumph, praise God. And that
fourth chariot that is pulled by the susim, beridim, that's
grizzled, speckled, spotted, a horse that represents a mixture
of judgment is what he's trying to tell us a man reflecting the
complexity of God's dealings with the nation's both mercy
and wrath that it is and so it speaks both God's judgment the
ultimate victory over evil that we're reminded to strive for
peace and purity in our own lives even currently right now knowing
that God will ultimately triumph over injustice and bring about
peace for all people, praise God. We see as we go, amen. Then in verse four, then I answered
and said unto the angel that talked with me, what are these,
my Lord? And so when we look and realize
that Zachariah asked the interpreting angel for clarification, about
the vision that he just witnessed. And so it shows Zachariah's desire
for understanding what the future displays. That when we don't
understand what God is doing in our lives right now, or in
the world that is around us right now, we don't need to be afraid
to ask him for wisdom. Amen. for prayer and seeking
guidance through his word to help us gain clarity in all of
the confusing situations and time that we're in amen and so
Zachariah he's unsure of the meaning behind the vision and
so he asked interpreting from the angel, the clarity, emphasizing
the importance of seeking understanding from God when confronted with
spiritual matters. Boy, maybe all your life you've
lived for the Lord, and now you're dealing with something that's
very harsh that you'll never understand why your loved one
was taken away, and you never will probably. None of us will
until we are with Him, and then we'll know all things. And so,
like Zechariah, we seek to understand from God when we're faced with
challenging situations, and we have access to the Holy Spirit. I want to remind you that you've
got access to the greatest power in the world tonight, because
you are a born-again child of the King. You have access to
the Holy Spirit. And that helps us discern the
spiritual truths and understand God's will. And he said, I want
to know tonight. I want to know what's fixing
to unfold, what's fixing to take place, praise God, here with
the vision of these four chariots, amen. And so, and he says, the
angel answered and said unto me, these are the four spirits
of the heavens which go forth from standing before the Lord
of all earth, amen. And so, as we look and we see
that as there are those spirits that are there, amen, that we
see that he explains they represent the four spirits of heaven. sent
by God to patrol the earth. The black horses go to the north.
The white follow the dappled, the spotted ones head south.
That indicates God's judgment and protection being sent out
over all the earth. Amen. I could go into a lot more
detail on that, but I don't have the time because of time getting
away. And so when we look and realize
that just as God sent out his agents across the earth, he's
active right now. overseeing and influencing events
that are happening right now globally across this world. We
may not always see it, but God works through his people and
angels to bring about his will in different regions of the world
right now. And we should pray for that discernment
of his working and we ought to trust in his timing because every
one of us are impatient as we go through the drive-through.
And so when we look and realize that that spirit uh that we see
the winds of heaven amen that it tells us about we're reminded
that god's authority extends over all creation and that his
purposes will be accomplished and his will is supreme and as
believers our lives with his purposes knowing that he's sovereign
and that he's lord amen and so and the black horses which are
therein go forth into the north country and the white go forth
after them and the gristle go forth toward the south country
amen here as we look and realize of as we just see it amen and
so he's explaining everything of what everything means, praise
God, that God's judgment is thorough and it reaches every nation,
that God's justice will be executed everywhere. And this peace will
also follow. And we all should have confidence
in his final victory over evil, because just as God sent out
his agents across the earth He's active again. I want to remind
you about that, that he's active right now and he's working through
everyone, through his people, through angels and his timing
is always to his liking. And he says in verse seven, and
the bay went forth and sought to go that they might walk. to
and fro through the earth. And he said, get you hence, walk
to and fro through the earth. So they walk to and fro through
the earth. And so when we look at this,
we're reminded that the angelic beings commissioned to patrol
the entire earth. Their movement throughout the
world shows God's oversight and His presence everywhere, ensuring
that His plans are being carried out. For you and I, God sees
and He knows all things. that happens on this earth. He's
not far and distant from us tonight. No matter how many times that
the devil on one side of your shoulder that has been talking
in your ear tells you that, even when we feel alone, even when
we feel unnoticed out there tonight, listen to me, we're reminded
that God is fully aware of our circumstances and that gives
us comfort knowing that we're never out of his sight or his
care, praise God. And so, and then cried he upon
me and spake unto me saying, behold, these that go toward
the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country. And so when we look at this,
the angel explains that the black horses which went to the north
have calmed God's spirit. This means that God's judgment,
our justice has been fulfilled in the North and his anger is
appeased to that. And so God's justice is perfect,
that it brings peace when it's carried out. In a society like
today, it's rampant when we look at all the things that are happening.
And knowing that God will ultimately bring justice and righteousness
in his time, even when we cannot see it immediately, he'll bring
it. And so I'm glad the budding of
the branch for the temple. that when we look, we're getting
into the next part. We talked about the four chariots,
but now from verse nine all the way down to verse 15, the scene
changes. Here, as we see the vision, that
begins to change. And all from what God is doing
with us, we see the next thing. Because here, God's instructions
to the prophet in verses nine through 11, He was to crown the
high priest Joshua. And through this, when we look
and we realize that what God is wanting to do, amen, here
in this ninth verse, amen, we're aware that as this goes about,
The immediate call was to believe and trust the Lord and their
duty was to rebuild the Lord's temple. And so I'm glad that
each and every one of us have a mission that God has called
us to. And he's called every one of
us because the study of Zechariah's eight nighttime vision is important
because we remember that God gave these visions to encourage
and motivate his people to complete the reconstruction of that temple.
And tonight, our job is to re look and encourage you about
this temple. Because every one of us, no matter
what internal issues and whatever external issues, the internal
issues had to do with the people themselves because the exiles
who had returned and those who refused to return, their hearts
were not in the work, nor were they totally committed to the
Lord. And so they were indifferent to the project and the distractions. Boy, you know, it's sad when
you've got people like that, that they've got their own selfish
wants and desires. But the outside pressures, the
surrounding tribes and the nations feared the rebuilding of Jerusalem
and a reunited kingdom. And so, obviously, there was
a tremendous spiritual opposition operating behind the scene where
we've got the battle today that's operating from the internal and
the outside pressures of us right now as men and women of God.
and the forces of darkness that were allied against God's people,
even back in the Old Testament times of Zechariah, that the
sixth vision of the flying scroll promised that God would remove
the lawless and the wicked from the land. And so all of the remnant
that yearned to rebuild the temple to complete it, they didn't have
their heart in it. Oh man, I'm gonna tell you, every
believer has a tremendous calling upon their life, his or her life.
the call to serve the Lord. And we learn from Zachariah tonight,
that as well as from all of God's word, that the Lord has an eternal
plan for all Israel, for us, a plan to bless the whole world
through her. And that plan is still in effect
through every church right now tonight. And I'm glad that Christ
has called the church and every true believer in it to be a blessing
to the world. And we're to do so by modeling
Christ as love. We're to share the love of Christ
with everyone we meet. We make disciples, praise God,
of all nations and peoples. We bring as many people into
the arms of Christ as love as we possibly can, praise God.
The Great Commission tonight, it's our real great calling for
all of us, a call given to every born-again believer. Sadly, however,
like the Israelites in Zechariah's day, we're prone to grow discouraged
and quick to get distracted. Boy, am I telling some truth
tonight. I'm talking about myself. I don't know about you. I can't
know about what you're going through. We often lose sight
of our great commission and we get caught up in the ways of
the world and get sidetracked. but we must be careful to remember
that these are very important times that only God knows when
our time on this earth will end and when we will be suddenly
snatched away from the world and from our loved ones and thrown
into a world because God only knows the day and the hour of
Christ's return. And when he will rapture his
people and throw this world into chaos, like we've talked about
tonight, that the world has never seen ever before. I tell you,
I don't care. They ain't got a category on
the list of what's going to hit this world when the church is
raptured out. Well, I bet you thought you saw a category five
or six. You ain't saw a category yet
that's going to hit it like God's going to hit it when the church
is raptured out of here. And there's no one else that
is here, it's going to be rough. And so we must not let any obstacle
stand in our way. God's word offers us great assurance,
great encouragement, amen. And it tells us not to grow discouraged,
but rather to persevere. And it challenges us to finish
the race tonight. And we can accomplish our task
because the Lord promises to accomplish the work that has
been begun in us. He said, I will accomplish it
in Philippians 1, 6. And therefore we must cling to
these promises and we must persevere. We must finish the race. And so the prophetic of God's
instructions to the prophet crowned that high priest. And the word
of the Lord came unto me saying, Take of them of the captivity
even of Hildaya, Tobaja, and Jedidiah, which are come from
Babylon, and come down the same day, and go into the house of
Josiah, the son of Zephaniah." Hey, that got some ring to it,
don't it? I like that. Amen. And so, when we look and
we realize that through the instructions of God, God instructs Zechariah
to take silver and gold from the returned exiles, Heldiah,
Tobijah, Jedidiah, and to make a crown. These men had come back
from Babylon. They did not want to remain where
they had been captured, where they had been restructured to
stay there as the Babylonians did. He says, we're going back
home. We're getting out of this place
of captivity. And so these men had come back
from Babylon and God was going to use their resources for a
symbolic act. Amen. And I'm glad today God
uses the resources and the talents of his people to accomplish his
purpose today. Some of you got more income than
others that you can do a little bit more with your income than
somebody else that's just barely getting by, but all of us have
a part to play. And so we are called to contribute
to God's kingdom, to work with our time, to work with our gifts,
to work with our resources, amen, to recognize that what we give
is part of a greater plan when we come together in the body
of Christ. Amen. And so every one of us, we see
that it blends the symbolism of anticipation of a future.
Messiah the breakdown that we see that it tells us about a
man that each and every one of us I could go into the Hebrew
on it, but I don't really have much time I'm just I'm just now
got about five minutes I'm trying to get done at the top of the
hour, but I'm not gonna rush too much and Then take silver and
gold and make crowns and set them upon the head of Joe Joshua
the son of Josedek the high priest or Joshua and so I'm glad that
Zachariah is instructed to make a crown and place it on the head
of the high priest of Joshua. which is a type of the Messiah
Christ, the symbolic act that points to Joshua representing
the coming king, priest, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lord and
the King of Kings, praise his mighty name, who will combine
both the spiritual and the royal authority together, praise God.
Jesus is both our high priest and our king. He not only intercedes
for us spiritually tonight, but he also reigns over our lives
with authority. And in a world where leadership
is often flawed, like today, we can look to Jesus as that
perfect leader that guides us in truth and righteousness, no
matter what, amen. And so I thank God as we look,
the budding, we see that it changes from God's instructions to the
prophet that he was to crown the high priest Joshua nine through
11, but in 12 through 15, God's explanation. Joshua was a symbol
of the Messiah's being crowned both king and priest, as I said
a while ago. And that's exactly what we're
reading about. And speaking to him, saying, Thus speaketh the
Lord of hosts, saying, Behold, the man whose name is the branch,
and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the
temple of the Lord. Boy, if that ain't powerful,
because it refers to the branch. The title for the Messiah, Jesus,
amen. He is the one that will grow
up and build the true temple of the Lord. A reference to both
his spiritual work in establishing the church and the future restoration
of God's people in the coming days, praise God. And so, Jesus
is that true builder. of God's spiritual temple, the
church. And as believers, we're a part of that temple. Our role
is to stay connected to him, allowing him to build and shape
our lives for his purpose, praise God. And so when we look and
we realize that everything that God's doing today, then he shall
build the temple of the Lord and he shall bear the glory and
he shall sit and rule upon his throne and he shall be a priest
upon his throne and the counsel of peace shall be between them
both. And so, I'm glad that when we
look and we see that here, even as it emphasizes the Messiah
Jesus that will build the temple, that will bear the glory, that
will reign both as king and priest. His reign will bring peace between
the two rows, symbolizing the harmony between God's rule and
His atonement for sin for each and every one of us, amen. And
so Jesus is the one that brings us peace between God and us,
rules with authority. And in a broken world, we find
true peace only through Him. Everything else can be falling
apart out there. But listen, whatever kind of cancer you got,
the only peace that you're ever going to have is the peace of
salvation, where he's wrote your name down in the Lamb's Book
of Life. Because why? This body's not meant to last
forever. It's going to return to the dust
of the ground from which it came. We're going to lay this body
down in some type of form of whatever illnesses and pains
that come with it, because it's not meant to last forever. That
soul has been recorded. It's the eternal, everlasting
thing that that soul, even for an unbeliever, That soul will
spend eternity in the depths of hell for torment forever and
ever. Why not spend it in heaven? Because that soul is eternal
and it's going to spend either in heaven or hell by your choice,
by your choice. And so we look and we see that
through that, that each and every one of us, Jesus is the one that
brings us the most peace, amen, that we can ever have. And so
as we see that he's gonna be the builder, for each and every
one of us that intercedes on our behalf, praise God. And so
he is that one, the high priest, the Nezar, the Atorah, fulfilled
in the Hasmonean rulers, filled in Jesus, praise God. Filled
in Jesus, he is the branch. He will branch out and he will
build the temple. He will rule and he will be both
priest and king. Those who far off will come and
build the temple. I'm glad he's the servant of
the menorah. He's the center of the lamp for
us all. And so I'm trying to rush because
I'm out of time right now. In verse 14, and the crown shall
be to Helam and to Lord, if I can get tongue twisted,
Helam, and Tobijah, and Jedidiah, and to him, the son of Zephaniah,
for a memorial in the temple of the Lord. And so, as the crowns
are made for Joshua, they're to be kept as a memorial in the
temple. The act of placing the crowns
in the temple serves as a reminder of the future king and priest,
our Lord and Savior, who will come to fulfill God's promises,
amen. And so our acts of faith today
leave a legacy for the future of generations to come. Just
as these crowns were a reminder of God's promises, our faithfulness
in service can inspire others to trust in God's faithfulness
and look forward to a future work that is coming, amen. And
so, as I get ready to close out, we see, lastly, here, that last
verse, that God's condition for fulfillment of the promises,
the people must be obedient, just as we are today. And they
that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord.
And ye shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass if
ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God." That is
the stipulation. And so each and every one of
us, as we go through life today, it speaks of those that are far
off likely like us Gentiles, who will come and help build
the Lord's temple. It points to also all the nations
in God's plan of salvation. And it also includes a condition.
that these blessings will come if the people are obedient to
God's voice, amen. And so I hope and pray that as
I get ready to close out, Jesus Christ fulfills the great promise
given to the world throughout the crowning of Joshua. And the
branch are the Tizmach. The Tizmach is a very powerful
name known in Jerusalem. When I was in Jerusalem that
I saw that term, the Tizmach. that is a prophetic reference
to the Messiah of Jesus Christ, the branch, amen, that grows
from a tree, the sprout, the shoot, indicating the Messiah's
humble beginning, his divine origin, that he is the temple
of the Lord, symbolizing the role in restoring the true worship
of God's kingdom as well, amen. And so I'm glad that each and
every one of us As I close out tonight, I hope and pray that
you've got something from this tonight because here a revelation
that here when we look and realize that what God is wanting to do
in all of our lives, amen. God is wanting to give us a promise
because God promised the sin of Messiah and he's already come
in the person of Jesus Christ. Christ died for our sins and
he rose again to give us the great hope of living eternally
with God. God promises that Christ will come again to establish
God's kingdom on earth, a kingdom of eternal peace, prosperity,
and untold blessings. And that hope awaits all that
accept, listen, God's gift of the Messiah of salvation. But
obedience to God's word is still required. It's necessary for
obedience because that's the last message that's delivered.
Even in Zechariah's generation, they had to obey God. They had
to fulfill God's call to rebuild the temple in order to receive
the promises of God, amen. And so I hope and pray that through
this, that we look and realize that we've got the greatest blessings
of all here as we get ready. Because this time frame right
here, and they that are far off shall come during this time. In Zechariah 1 through 6, there
was a two year gap. Then Zechariah 7-14 came on the
scene. A two year interruption that
came in between Zechariah chapter 1 and chapter 6 to Zechariah
chapter 7 all the way to Zechariah chapter 14. of those. Next, the two sermons of Zechariah
chapter 7, 8, 9, all the way down to 12 until we get to 14,
that we're making a little bit of progress. We're almost halfway
there. And so I hope and pray Uh, that
each and every one of you tonight as we close out, I hope that
you as well got something tonight because you are that temple.
And when we look and realize that God wants to bless each
and every one of us, uh, Zachariah, uh, as he is the crown, uh, that
he talked about the crown of Messiah, uh, even though that
he symbolized the high priest of Joshua, every one of us, don't
you want to have a crown the throw at the feet of Jesus. Oh,
whatever that might be, as you embark on the great commission,
that you could have some kind of crown and say, Lord, the crown
of salvation, if anything, amen, the throw at the feet of Jesus,
and because he deserves everything that we could ever possibly give
him. Let's close out. Father, thank
you tonight. We ask your blessings upon those
that received, that heard tonight. Lord, I pray that Zachariah chapter
6 would be a reality in someone's life tonight. That we have peace
and Lord that we would look to you and have patience even through
the very difficult times that we have today. Like Zachariah
had to ask the Holy Spirit through the angel to give him an interpretation.
I ask tonight Father that there's someone out there they need to
understand something That is puzzling them tonight or why
they're going through it and they may never know all of the
answer But tonight father I pray that you will give them the best
answer that only you could give To make them understand what
it is and why they're having to go through it tonight and
all that we do and say And everything we give glory and honor to our
lord and savior jesus christ. Amen. God bless you tonight Thank
you for tuning us in may god bless you
