When the name, person and character of our lovely Saviour is slandered, in the fashion it is in this 'rock opera', we need to raise our protest. It would be a dereliction of our duty to Christ if we remained silent.
It is a shame upon others who supposedly profess to follow Christ that they remain dumb.
If someone slandered the name and character of our best friend we would be so incensed that we would have to show our disgust at such a thing. In protesting we are showing our disgust at those who slander the name and person of Jesus Christ.
‚ÄėJesus Christ Superstar' is a 'rock opera' about the last seven days of the life of Christ before His crucifixion. This is the 40th anniversary of it production for the stage.
Critics have given it rave reviews. Even some churches have sung its praises. Some have even hailed it as a means of presenting Christ to young people in a way they will understand and accept.
