This sermon finds roots for the Pilgrims thanksgiving in the model of the Old Testament feast that featured eating with one another in the presence of God as an act of worship. The lessons God intended the Hebrews to lear by this annual feast remembrance of their journey through the wilderness and the two temptations Moses list are examined and then related to Jesus as the Fulfiller of this Feast which is continued in the Eucharist and anticipates the Supper to come.
