The Golden Altar of Prayers

The golden altar of incense represents the centrality of prayer in the life of God's people. This altar alone was placed directly before the veil that led to the holiest of all, the immediate presence of God, teaching that prayer is the way of entering directly into God's throne room through the veil of Christ's flesh. The incense burned continually was sweet; and so are the prayers of the faithful, even when they arise from struggle and apparent ineffectualness.
