Mature in Hope

In Colossians 1:28-29 Paul writes: "Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me." But what does it mean to be a mature Christian? How do we build mature churches? The New Testament seems to indicate that path to Christian maturity is a three step program: Faith, Hope and Love (and the greatest of these is love!).
