Preparation for Judgment: 1st Seal

We continue to prepare for the actual judgment of God to begin in chapter 8. In chapter 6 we see the Lamb, Jesus Christ, who alone was authorized to open the heavenly scroll, begin the process one seal at a time. The scroll is not actually opened until all seven seals have broken by Jesus Christ. While He is breaking the seals in heaven, a variety of activities begin to take place simultaneously on earth. These activities involve the temporary rule of the antichrist. Jesus Christ is the rightful heir (like King Richard), but before He returns to reign, the false christ (Prince John) will reign in wickedness.
