When Moses and Aaron approached Pharaoh asking him to let God's people go, Pharaoh responded by making life harder for the children of Israel. He forced them to fetch their own straws, and still make the required number of bricks. The children of Israel had a glimpse of hope when they were told that the LORD heard their cry, and that he was concerned about them. They felt like the time for their deliverance was at hand. But now that their pain is increasing, they are probably asking, 'what kind of God is this?
