More Sermon Details:
Isaiah reaches back to the language of the exodus and points forward to a day when the Lord shows his power in redemption and restoration.
Taking this as a song to be sung by the redeemed, we are called to praise the Lord - to sing up to him, and to sing out about him, tracing the trajectory of his salvation.
We praise God because he was angry with us, acknowledging his justice and our sin; we praise him because he has turned his anger away from us, not dealing with us as our sins deserve; we praise him because he has comforted us, bringing in all the favour and blessing that he delights to give.
And, if we begin to praise him here on earth, how sweet the song of salvation will sound in heaven!
