On Remembering God's Hand in Your Life This was an excellent message on remembering God's work in our lives. As Samuel planted his memorial to God's help, we need to plant such Ebenezers in our lives as well. We need to concretize in our memories that God does work in our lives. Such Ebenezers indicate our sensitivity to His providence, and encourage us in the future when we call upon Him.
As fallen creatures, we are prone to memorializing things gone wrong. We seem to remember those things in detail, even down to the date and time. We do this as though it is helpful, and as though no one has such memorials about us.
The Christian, not yet rid of the old man, needs to keep Romans 8:28 in the front of his consciousness: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
