More Sermon Details:
Painting in broad strokes, we consider the anchor that this psalm provides for God's people.
The first thing to consider is the declaration of God's reign in the world, the everlasting rule of a majestic and mighty God upon which all in the cosmos depends.
The next thing to consider is the demonstration of God's reign over the waves. Whether considered as a physical phenomenon or a symbol of spiritual unrest, the Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters.
The final thing to consider is the distinction of God's reign among the saints, the certainty of his word and the delight he takes in the holiness of his people. This is the distinctive goodness of his rule among his own people, with whom he delights to dwell.
