1. Why did they expect to get an audience with
Jesus? There is a parallel question we need to ask
here, too. Why does anyone expect to get an audience
with Jesus? On what grounds do we think that we have
a right to have access to God?
2. Why did Jesus reject them? Why did Jesus deny
them access to Him? Why didn't He see them? He was

3. What was Jesus promising to His disciples? Even
while Jesus is denying His blood family, He was
declaring that His disciples were his true/eternal
4. How does Jesus identify who is His brother or
sister? "Whoever does the will of God, he is my
brother and sister and mother."
