BE WATCHFUL – Over the state of your souls.
STRENGTHEN THE THINGS THAT REMAIN – Have a fixed heart, a strong resolution in your walk.
REMEMBER – What you have received and heard.
HOLD FAST - Guard your hearts, preserve your hearts.
We must be WATCHFUL Christians if not,this is the result, we begin to be too comfortable and complacent in our Christian walk, it leads to having a lethargic lifestyle. This then means usually that there is no conviction and no commitment and therefore we just exist, none of us are exempt from this! This can happen to best of Christians. Thus, the importance of being watchful, being sober, being vigilant, else we become sleeping Christians, which can be a cause of Christians falling into sin, or of Christians not being committed, of Christians not going to church, of Christians not caring, all because we were negligent in being watchful. We get so worry and concern about so many things, but are you concern about falling asleep? We are so worried and concern about oversleeping and being late to work, but if we oversleep as Christians, oh well God knows my heart. Well if you are ever late to work because you overslept, I would like for you to tell your boss, oh well, come on boss, you know my heart. Oh may God stir up your souls this morning to be WATCHFUL CHRISTIANS. We can be so busy with so many things that can cause us to fall asleep as Christians, this why Peter warns us to be sober, vigilant, why? Because “…because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” |
