The Lord disciplines His children because He loves them. And His discipline is better understood by us when we grow spiritually. Discipline involves correction. Condemnation involves rejection. And punishment involves pain suffered for doing wrong. While there is a punitive aspect to discipline, it is not the same as mere punishment. And is much different than condemnation, which Christians don't experience because of God's grace.
