The question ‚ÄúIs it possible to fall away from our salvation?‚ÄĚ especially as discussed in these five verses of Hebrews 6 raises great concerns for believers, especially believers who hold to the biblical doctrine of eternal security. Pastor Tony briefly discusses five current interpretations, or understandings, of these verses in today‚Äôs message: 1. Loss of Salvation ‚Äď Arminians and Lutherans 2. Loss of Reward: dispensational position 3. Hypothetical view: ‚ÄúIf it were possible‚Ķ‚ÄĚ as held by some of a reformed persuasion 4. Test of greenness view: Held by other reformed theologians 5. Means of preservation: We hear the warnings which then serve as the means of their salvation and preservation Listen as Pastor Tony expands on addresses this difficult question from a truly biblical perspective.
Gifts and Apostasy I agree with your message to a point Bro. Buford. I know that there are still gifts at work of The Holy Spirit of God today. We may have a different view on those things, but on the same hand we do as you say have God's word with us.To believe it's warnings and hope is a big amen from me also.I know that it is possible today for people to fall into apostasy, but to note also these were not true believers. It's like king Saul being among the prophets and prophesying, but he was not a true believer. Comparing him to king David who did have God's word in him and speaking by the Holy Ghost at times as is evident. I do believe in the works of the Spirit of God to be evident today and know they are.
