1. Taking the principles of the word of god and creating standards beyond what the bible say - extreme righteousness. a. For example, using 1 Tim 2:9 to define proper clothing standards. Read v10, get the whole context. The modest woman is the lady who is acting on her love for God and pursuing womanhood in Christ. b. Revelation 2:2-5
2. Romans 5:5-9 - Our flesh wants credit and becomes numb to the love of God. We create our own Gospel of Law.
3. Colossians 2:9-23 - words spoken to people who took the Word seriously. It is for us, not just for those we believe legalistic or salvation by works.
4. Are you a pharisee? How do you characterize them? Do you see yourself in them? why not?
5. How do we avoid been called a blind guide and hypocrite? Philippians 3:2-9 a. Trust 100% in Jesus - no amount of self works can change the heart b. Know that we are created to worship God c. Ensure you have no confidence in the flesh - 1 Corinthians 10:31 d. Be a proper spiritual accountant - Philippians 3:7-9 e. Remember is about a relationship and not religion f. God Loves us. He is our father, Christ is our brother. Romans 8:31-39
