In this story, several men bring a paralytic to Jesus to be healed. They have to overcome a number of obstacles to get to Jesus, including carrying the paralytic to the roof of the house where Jesus was and then digging through the roof to lower him down into the house. Mark says in vs. 5 – When Jesus saw their faith .. These men had a faith that Jesus and others could see – faith that cared enough to do something about their friend’s condition, faith that shared themselves to bring their friend to Jesus, and that dared, or willing to take risks to bring him to Jesus. We are called to have the same faith that others can see.
