David's prayer narrative of God's deliverance of him from the point of death. Under God's discipline he had cried out in repentance for divine help and God had heard his prayer. He now invites all the congregation to join him in praise because what he had experienced was applicable many others. By this means he seems to bring comfort to suffering believers. His poem is rich with contrasting phrases to emphasize the greatness of God's deliverance. His desire to be restored to life and to not die so that he could once again bring God honor and praise through his life is a model. Let us live to glorify God!
