Once again I will preach a sermon in the series The Worship That Pleases God, and we will continue the section The Manner of Worship: The Attitude of Man, which will be our last full section on this series. We will now be considering the appropriate attitude that must accompany our worship of God. There are certain characteristics and specific principles that should always be shaping our corporate worship, and I will develop several of these themes. In this sermon I will seek to emphasize the characteristic of fear and holiness in worship. Working directly from the Scriptures, I will explain what is meant by the fear of God, and how it relates to reverence. But I will especially emphasize the theme of holiness and why the people of God must be holy. My hope is that we will really hear what the Lord says, and that we will apply these spiritual principles as a worshipping church. To that end may the Lord be pleased to bless the ministry of His word to our hearts.
