The vast majority of Christian men are not called by God to serve as under-shepherds in Christ's church, for stricter will be our judgement. And, there is authority Jesus gives to pastors that is unique to their office, and which other Christians do not share in. But all of this being said, if every Christian is not called to be a "capital 'M' minister", all are called to be "lower case 'm' ministers". Indeed, a major part of the purpose of God giving leadership gifts to pastors is so that they can equip the saints of God to labor in ministry to one another and to this fallen world, which leads in turn to the church's spiritual growth and maturity. This is Paul's inspired vision of true church growth. We all have a part to play, will you be diligent to supply what every joint must supply? Or will you neglect your God-given duty to the detriment of the Body of Christ? Let us resolve to "carry our weight" by using our unique giftedness to the glory of God and the building up of His church!
