Naaman wanted to bestow on Elisha riches and honour for the great healing of his body from leprosy, but Elisha would receive nothing. V15 Note how Naaman was humbled. It seems that he was moved to respect the God of Elisha. This was a great testimony that Elisha had. He wanted nothing to spoil it. Like silver and goods.
But Gehazi was of a different spirit. He was soon sought a way back to Naaman and went running after him. He took the silver and garments and hid them in a tower.
He thought that he could get away with this deception but as soon as he was back in the presence of Elisha he was exposed. Question: v26 b Is it a time to receive money. To do harm: • To God. • To other men - Naaman's soul. • To the greater witness of the gospel. This all applies to us today in God's work. The wrong use or abuse of money could ruin you for God.
