The risen, ascended, and glorified Lord Jesus Christ appeared to the beloved disciple John in a fashion that made John fall at Jesus’ feet as a dead man. But the Lord comforted him and gave him assurance of His sovereign power, His divine identity, and His certain judgment. In multiple ways Jesus claimed to Himself characteristics of God Almighty, including eternality, creativity, life, and judgment. As Son of Man, Jesus does differ from God the Father in that Jesus took upon Himself flesh so that He could die in the place of sinners. Praise God for a comprehensive salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord! |
