The Book of Ruth is a short book, telling the remarkable story of a Moabite girl, who became the Great Grandmother of King David, and an ancestor in the genealogical line of The Lord Jesus. In this, the fourth occasional sermon in the series, we consider something of the provision and providence of God, as we are introduced to Boaz, a type of Christ, who is drawn to Ruth through their common faith, and who becomes a blessing to her. He understood the spiritual significance of all that Ruth had done. His was a literal demonstration of faith and love in action, and through a practical application of his loving-kindness he became to Ruth as a Redeemer. The comparisons with Christ and His relationship to us are unmissable.
