This morning I will continue the series of sermons from the book of Job. I will be continuing the sermon thought from last week,”Who's Really In Charge?” However, this morning I will concentrate upon the mystery of divine providence. After examining the nature of divine providence, I will describe for you the seemingly impossible providence that overtook Job. It is astounding to realize the degree of change that occurred in Job's life in such a short period of time. But the heart of the sermon will be a consideration of the lessons that we can learn from Job about the mystery of providence. If we do not rightly understand the providence of God, and if we fail to rightly apply what we know in the midst of adversity, we will find it difficult to stand under the severe trials of life. May the Lord give us greater understanding about this important biblical truth, and hearts to say “Amen!” to it as well.
