Paul was committed to intercessory prayer on behalf of the needs of other believers. His prayers were never selfish or self-serving. when he requested prayer, it was for the furtherance of the Gospel and the kingdom of God. His main objective was to see God glorified in the lives of all believers.
Paul interceded for others in constant, fervent prayer, but for the glory of God to be realized in their lives. Jesus assures us, 'And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son' (Jn. 14:13).
Prayer for the Christian ought to be as regular as breathing. Prayer has been referred to as living in a steady state of 'God-consciousness. To respond to the ongoing, various exigencies in life with hasty, knee-jerk reactions -- taking matters into our own hands -- out of emotion, lacks wisdom and godliness. Men and women of God are steadfast, focused, relentless prayer warriors who have God's highest honor in view.
