This message demonstrates clearly there was hatred during the War of Northern Aggression; however, the hatred was on the part of the North – towards the South, the Constitution, and the Union. Quote after quote verifies the stances of the North and South. The Confederate battle flag is not and cannot be a symbol of hatred.
