The word “hope” is used twice in these verses that I have just read to you. It is used in the language of both declaration and resolution; that is, this is something that David as a believer would most certainly do in times of trial and difficulty; he would hope in the Lord. Verse 5 says, “For You are my hope, O Lord God”. And verse 14 says, “But I will hope continually”. The Christian grace of hope, which God gives to every person who seeks Him for it through Jesus Christ our Lord, is the desire and the expectation that God will save them and that He will help them in the times of their greatest trials. The question that I want you to ask yourself this morning is this: “Am I experiencing and exercising the grace of hope in relation to my faith and my walk with my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ?”
