The time as finally come for Israel to enter the promised land so a new census is taken of the people. This will enable the leaders to determine the size of the army they can muster and to prepare for the dividing of the land once it's conquered.
The record of the census tells us the size of the tribes and some of the significant people of each and their history.
Through the facts of their history it is apparent that God is faithful to His promises to bless for obedience and bring consequences for disobedience. Israel will enter the promised land and yet all who were unwilling to enter the land almost 40 years prior, because of their unbelief, have suffered the consequences. Led by Joshua and Caleb, the younger generations will begin preparations to enter in to the promises of God.
By faith, expressed through obedience, the children of God both then and now, realize the fullness of His promises and blessings.
