After telling us that without the love of God everything we are and that we achieve is worthless the apostle lays out for us what the love of God poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit will look like. We must not take this for granted because the world has an imitation of the love of God. We must come to the altar and lay down not only our ambitions but our conceptions of what love should look like and how loving we think we are. We must measure ourselves by His standard and then ask for grace to be conformed to His purposes.
