Several titles are attached to this Psalm. The one I like the best is from the NASB. It reads, "Prayer for Protection, Guidance and Pardon." One commentator called this a lament. A lament is by definition a passionate expression of grief or sorrow. David does sorrow over his sin. He also is not happy about his enemies.
