Aaron Messner was previously employed as the Chaplain of Covenant College. He attended Wheaton College, where he met his wife, Nancy, and graduated from there with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theological Studies in 1996. He attended Wheaton College, where he met his wife, Nancy, and graduated from there with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theological Studies in 1996. While at Wheaton, Aaron attended College Church, where he was greatly influenced by the preaching and pastoral ministry of R. Kent Hughes, and where he was introduced to and eventually embraced Reformed Theology. Aaron completed a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies at Wheaton in 1999 and received his master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2002. While at Princeton, Aaron was involved at Tenth Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Philadelphia under the pastorate of Dr. Philip G. Ryken. Aaron served first as a Mercy Ministry intern, then as assistant minister of discipleship; and finally as associate minister of preaching. Aaron served at Tenth for six and a half years. In June, 2007, at the request of Dr. Niel Nielson, then President of Covenant College, Aaron went to the college to serve as the chaplain, his primary role being to revitalize and re-structure the chapel program.
