In Philippians 4 Paul shows us how we can have spiritual stability.
In verses 2-3 of Chap 4 Paul writes about Unity.
In verse 4 He wants the Philippians to Rejoice in the Lord.
In verse 6 Paul tells them that they should not be anxious but rather they should be prayerful & thankful.
If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, then you should be a person that is thankful. Paul wants us to be in the habit of thinking about things that are good and true and lovely.
Can I ask you a question? How much of your time is spent on thinking about good things?
In 2005, the National Science Foundation published an article regarding research about human thoughts each day. They say: "The average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, 80% are negative. The studies of the National Science Foundation reveal that the quality of our existence rests on the quality of our internal and external communication.
Though our minds are corrupted there is good news for everyone that trusts Christ! In Christ our minds can be changed. …Being Born Again is the first step in renewing our minds!
In Verse Philippians 4:9 Paul wants the Philippian Christians to do what he did.
Paul was a great example to the Philippians:
There are six Words here I want you to take notice of in verse 9 in relation to the Apostle Paul and the Philippians: The Six words are: Learned, received, heard, saw, me and do:
The Philippians Learned and heard the Word of God from the Apostle Paul.
Not only did they learn and hear the Word of God from Paul but they also received it! Many people hear the Word of God today and even learn the Word of God, but they must receive God's Word!
