The Lord Jesus Christ understood that worry is a struggle for every human being with a fallen nature.
We have a propensity to worry, we have a propensity to be anxious but the Bible shows us that we are not to worry and the Bible gives us ways we can avoid it.
Now in preaching this sermon I in no way wish to discount the trials that people go through which can be the cause of great worry and anxiety... Some people listening might be even despairing of life now because of their present situation.
We live in a fallen world and trouble and trials are a part of normal life.
In my years as a minister I have met people that have suffered terrible trials and terrible injustices.
There are some people that I have met, that have experienced years of trouble and pain and if they did not know the Lord, then possibly their trials could have sent them crazy.
We would all probably know people that have suffered so much that they have even wanted to die. The Bible is honest about the human condition and there are even times where God's people think they would be better off dead.
Elijah was afraid for his life and Elijah ended up wanting to die.
Job suffered so much yet he was a Godly man.
Job was Godly, but not exempted from suffering. Read the Bible and you will find that God's people suffer!
The Bible promises a lot of good things for God's people but the Bible leaves us with no doubt that followers of Jesus Christ are going to suffer.
Jesus knows that life brings burdens that's why He said: Matt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Humanity is the pinnacle of God's creation, we are more valuable than birds.
