So if someone has a talent for baking pies and says, gee, I'd like to turn my talent into money, then I have to bake a lot of pies. And it becomes a win-win proposition. I sell lots of pies. Lots of people are satisfied. And lots of people give me money and I'm satisfied and it's a win-win. And that's how the free market works and that's what God set up in Proverbs. And that's why He even has a command, Thou shalt not steal. Understand that. So I was one of those guys, hey, if I'm smart enough to go into medicine, I'll go into it. I'll treat patients. They'll be happy. I'll get paid. I'll be happy. Everybody wins. I'll be the best doctor I can. So I went off to medical school and I studied. And one of the things that happens is when you're in medical school and when you eventually get into internship, it's long hours. And so the average week was a little over 103 or 104 hours a week you work when you're an intern. There's only 168 hours in a week, so you're there a lot. I mean, 36-hour shifts, and then you come home, let's say Monday morning at 7, then you work through Tuesday around 6 or 7. Then you come home and sleep. Then you go back on Wednesday. You might work just a 12-hour day Wednesday. You come back Thursday. You do another 36-hour shift to Friday. Then you come in Saturday. You do your rounds and work that day. And then maybe you get Sunday off unless you're on call, in which case you do 36 hours until Monday night. And so you work a lot. And when you work a lot, you're tired, you're losing sleep. Thankfully, I had strong adrenal glands that could keep me going through that. I was in my 20s. When you're young, you're full of, how they say, piss and vinegar, and you can do that kind of stuff. And I did it. But also what happens is you're at the hospital, and you start eating hospital food because it's just there, and they'll give it to the interns. I mean, after all, you're there taking care of the hospital. You're taking care of the patients at 2 in the morning, 3 in the morning, and you eat hospital food. And I started eating like everyone else starts eating. And I'm having bacon and eggs, and I'm having donuts. And the drug company salesmen love to bring fresh donuts every single day because they want us to buy their drugs. And so they get us all doped up with sugar. And next thing you know, we're using their drugs. And so they bring the donuts and that type of thing. And I was, I think, 28 years old or around then, and I wanted to get a life insurance policy. And they tested me, and I was a mess at 28 years old. I had a cholesterol over 300. I had a uric acid count over 10. Uric acid is crystals forming in the bloodstream that are going to deposit in all the joints and that's not good. It's going to form gout and arthritis and all these problems. I had high blood pressure at 27, 28 years old. My heart rate wasn't good. All these things and they were like not going to give me a life insurance policy. So I figured that I won't buy it. I'll save some money. So I didn't think about it and I just went on. Well, I got a job in Kentucky and when we were in Kentucky, my wife saw these folks on television that had this book that's come out in 1985. It's called Fit for Life. This was written in 1985. Now this book, although it's got some goofy stuff in there because they don't understand that God created things, they think of evolution, But they have good principles in there called applied hygienics, which is your best of food is your best medicine, and your best medicine is your best food. And it's a way of changing the way you eat in such a manner that it's not so much a diet, it's just altering when you eat certain foods. And the minute I heard it, my wife told me about it, she saw it on television and she said they have these principles. I mean instantly from my research at Roswell, I said that's applied hygienics. I said that's going to work. So we went on it in November of 85 and then a job opened up back near my mother and my mother wanted us home and we moved back to where my mom was in February of 86. And when I got to the new hospital, they said, we need to do a physical on you. And I thought, oh, here we go again. The uric acid, the cholesterol, the whole thing. And they tested me, and my cholesterol, instead of 305, was 138. My uric acid, instead of 10, was down below 4. My blood pressure was normalized. My heart rate was fine. And everything had changed in only three months of following this program. So, how does this program work? Although they don't understand the Creator God, they understand His foods and hygienics. And this is the simplest thing. If you take this one thing home, this one thing alone, and you change nothing else about the way you eat, you change this one thing only, again, 50% of doctors would be out of work. And this is it. God has designed your system in threes and the way it works is you have a period where you are actually acquiring the food and that's the appropriation period where you're actually getting the food and you're putting it into your mouth and you're appropriating it then once it's been appropriated a second system kicks in which is the breaking down of the food and the assimilation. And now the food, like I showed you before, is broken down to its components, it's put into the bloodstream, and it starts assimilating into the cells. That's step number two, is assimilation. And then the third step is called elimination. See, once that cell takes its glucose and turns it into pyruvate, and then the pyruvate goes through the Krebs cycle, and then the ATP is made, and it spits out, in all these processes, Just like this church here has people coming in and doing all kinds of work, but when the day is over there are garbage cans filled. The cell has metabolic wastes that it needs to get rid of. Now, the elimination period kicks in usually around 2 in the morning. And when you get to sleep around 12 or 2 in the morning, when you're resting, remember I told you about the importance of rest? That's when your body begins its elimination. That's when the kidneys kick in, the liver kicks in, the bloodstream starts drawing the metabolic processes, getting the toxins out of the cells that you made, and all these things, and gets prepared to eliminate them. And here's the problem. Your elimination period needs Eight to ten hours to complete itself. But here's the problem. Very few of us get eight hours of sleep. Let's be honest. And the minute you get up and break fast, the elimination stops. So herein was happening to me. I'm eating these foods. They weren't healthy in the first place, so they produce even more garbage than when you eat healthy foods. Even healthy foods has waste products. Bad foods the waste products are coming in when you're eating them so it's even more so let's take a look at let's say we're getting boxes in here and our job is to shred the boxes and get them out and 20 boxes a day are coming in if you're eating healthy if you're eating unhealthy 40 boxes a day are coming in but these things are coming in and your body's prepared it can deal with it but all of a sudden you break fast and of the 20 boxes I've only taken care of 15 I got five left over The body says, what do I do with this extra waste? And so we'll store it somewhere. We'll get to it tomorrow night. And so it stores it where? Put it in the lungs. Put it in the skin. Put it in a joint. Put it somewhere. And the body stuffs these little things aside. And this is how little tumors begin to grow. This is how little arthritis begins. This is how bronchitis begins. This is how acne begins. I mean, the body is just stuffing these toxins somewhere until the next night. It would be great if the next night you gave it time to do its job, but the same thing happens again. You take in 20 boxes, you shred 15, you wake up, you eat right away, I got an extra 5. Shove that somewhere. The elimination is the key. So here is what this diet or this lifestyle recommends. They discovered, just like in the garden, fruit is the one food you can eat that will not stop the elimination process. So when you get up in the morning, if all you do, and you change nothing else about your diet, you still go to McDonald's at 6pm, I wouldn't recommend it, but if you do, but if in the morning, all you do for the first two, at least two hours, More. Me, for me, I do six, but whatever. Don't pay attention to me. I'm overboard. I'm the extra mile kind of guy. If all you do is two to three hours, fresh fruit, apple, pear, melon, orange, whatever's in season, blueberry, strawberry, a banana, two to three hours of fresh fruit, your body continues that elimination and gets rid of that stuff. Go ahead. Yes. No, no, no, no. That anything other than fresh fruit interrupts the elimination. Anything. A cracker, tea, coffee, anything. Fresh fruit and only fresh fruit. Not canned fruit. After a while your body will adjust to it and you won't need that and it's better if you have more water rich foods but we do have a banana whether it's a fresh banana, or I squeeze bananas when they get the right bit of the white, you know, however you like to eat a banana, and you have a bunch of them, you unwrap them free from the stick in the freezer, and then you can make smoothies out of them. With a little bit of juice, and any fresh or frozen fruits that you like. And that's it. And this is so forgiving and so cleansing for the body. And that change alone, that change alone, if you still did the other mistakes and sins, this will cover a multitude of sins. It's like spending time at the altar. It's pretty impressive. And that alone, if that's all you could learn, I've taught this to hundreds of people for Many, many years now. Dozens of years. I've been doing this for 27 years. Almost nobody gets it. Almost nobody does it. That's okay. Don't worry. The trumpet's soon enough anyways. But if you want that alone, that alone, will make the greatest difference in your health. Again, with me, three months of it. Three months. Cholesterol down. Uric acid down. Blood pressure down. All those things normalized. God has a way to forgive. As a matter of fact, go to Psalm 103. Let me teach some Bible. I'm done with this. I've got to teach Bible now. When he was coming off a call in the morning, he'd have trouble falling asleep in the OR. When he went to the fruit, he got energy. Now he's not at work and he didn't have a cough. Talk to her. She's much better than I am. She's my extra brain. No, no, she's very good. I just want to talk Bible. OK, Psalm 103. Everybody loves this psalm. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me. Bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Those are the two middle verses of the Bible of a King James Bible that you just read there. The King James Bible has 31,102 verses and something that has an even number of verses does not have a middle verse. It has two middle verses and those are the two middle verses of the Bible. And bless the Lord, O my soul, is verse 1611 of the Psalms. I counted them personally. That's the 1611th verse in the Psalms begins the middle verses of the Bible. And then he goes on to say some wonderful things there. "...who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases, who redeemeth thy life from destruction, who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies." Here we go, verse 5. "...who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles." And fruit is God's healthiest food. He talks of the fruit of the Spirit. A man planted by rivers of water brings forth fruit. They're not just similitudes in types. They're truths. They're physical truths. And the eating of fruit in the morning is the healthiest thing that you can do. And if you do that and that alone for a couple of hours, I don't know the time when you get up. I mean, you get up at 7. Can you stay on fruit from 7 till 10? Can you do that? I mean, I get up and I won't, I don't know, I get up at 6, let's say. I'm all, I sleep in. And I won't have anything, a person would consider food till noon. I'll go six hours with just fruit to allow the health. And it's very good. It's very healthy. Like I told you, it's got the perfect sugar for the heart, the perfect sugar for the brain. It gives you more energy. You don't have a brain fog. You can do more work in the OR. It's much healthier and stronger just living on that fruit in the morning. So it's very good. The Lord has given us good things to renew our youth like the eagle. Well, not entirely, but it does renew it a little bit. Now, can I teach the Bible for a few minutes? Let me have some fun. Go to Matthew 16. And it will line up with Psalm 103 in a minute. And we'll get back there. And you can come take a look at those two books later if you think you want them. Those are two good books maybe to have for your library. And then that's enough about your body and the health. Spend more time in these 66 books and this is where you really need to be. Verse 1, the Pharisees in Matthew 16 also with the Sadducees came and desired him that he would show them a sign from heaven. Who are the Pharisees and the Sadducees today? I mean, if we went in a phone book, would you find them listed? But they do exist. Let me just tell you their M.O. very easily. The Pharisees had traditions. The Pharisees added to the Word of God. So what would that be today? P, Pharisee. P, Popes. Popes and priests add to the Word of God. They write catechisms. They write canons. They write dogmas, decrees. They have councils. They are the modern Pharisees. Who are the Sadducees? The Sadducees, M.O., they didn't believe in the resurrection. They didn't believe in angels. They didn't believe in the Spirit. So what was their M.O.? Their M.O. was to, S, subtract from the Word of God. So who are the modern Sadducees? Scholars. Scholars are the modern Sadducees. Who is it that comes up with manuscripts that are missing entire verses, entire words, entire books of the Bible? Scholars. So just to bring it up to date. Now, here, getting back to where we were historically, they come to Jesus. They're looking for a sign. Again, we don't seek signs. We seek Jesus. And I hope that's who you want to have a relationship with, is Jesus. Anyways, he answered. He said unto them, When it is evening, ye say it will be fair weather, for the sky is red. And in the morning it will be foul weather to-day, for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky, but can ye not discern the signs of the times? A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and there shall no sign be given unto it but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them and departed. Jonas was the only prophet that he picked Curious he was the only prophet from Galilee and from the north and Jonas if you remembered disobeyed God's call. And so God let him get thrown overboard and let him die inside of a whale's belly. And he was dead for three days. And then God resurrected him. And so Jonas was the sign of the resurrection to show, yes, God can resurrect people. And God did it to a man named Jonas and resurrected him. Let him die again, obviously. It wasn't a resurrection from the dead. It was a resurrection of the dead for a short while. Then he fell back to sleep. But there's a picture of what Jesus would ultimately do, that He would rise from the dead, never to die again. I was dead. I am alive forevermore. And so that's the sign. But notice in verse 2 and 3, there's that teaching about the evening and the weather. The sky is red and it's going to be fair. And in the morning, when it's red, it's going to be foul. You know, the sailors always talk about that. Red sky at morning, sailor takes warning. Red sky at night, sailor's delight. And what he's showing you here is he's saying, look, I've set certain things down on the planet to prepare you for the times. And the verse two is a picture of the evening when the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross. And the sky was red with His blood. And it's fair weather. From that point forward, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ has been offered in a Gospel. But verse 3 is the morning when the sun returns. And it's going to be fall weather today. The sky is red and lowering because He's going to lower the boom on the hypocrites that would not believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And that's the picture of the Second Coming. So verse 2 is the first coming. Verse 3 is the second coming. And they're right there next to each other. Now go back to Psalm 103. And the Lord does this a lot. He'll juxtapose two events that are a thousand years apart right next to each other. Why is that? He sits in eternity. And from him is just a glance here, and it's a glance there, and 2,000 years have passed. He sits high up in eternity. He looks down across the 7,000-year history of mankind. Plus the 1,500-year dispensation of angels, so 8,500 years. But whatever. It's a short period of time. Now, in Psalm 103, What he's doing here is he's teaching us to bless and thank Him. Now watch what he does, these beautiful verses. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities, first coming. Who healeth all thy diseases, second coming. Who redeemeth thy life from destruction, first coming. Who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies, second coming. who satisfieth thy mouth with good things." We're meeting right now. I've got good things to eat. I've got a Bible. I've got food. I've got First Coming. "...so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles." Second Coming, you get a new body. So in there, carefully packed in is just the sublime separation of the First and Second Coming right through those verses. Now, let's go back to Matthew 16. I want to show you something very interesting. We're just having fun here. We like doing this. This is Bible study. The Lord showed me this when I was about two years old in the Lord. I was doing a bus trip and just reading the Bible. I went and showed it to the pastors and they thought I was nuts, but whatever. Anyways, they threw me out of that church because I finally said the King James Bible is the only word of God and they didn't want me around. They said I was causing division. I was just trying to unite the church under one book. I didn't write all those other books. That's another story. Anyways, this is a great chapter because first off, the Lord, He starts out dealing with these religious people and He says, you know, let me show you the first and the second coming here. And if you just pay attention, you would know these things because it's my desire you would know them. But they continue to argue with him. So finally, he just goes away and he takes his men off into the wilderness and that Caesarea Philippi. And he asked the great question of whom do men say that I am the son of man? And of course, then the. Say, well, people are saying on the street, you're one of the prophets. You're just a good guy. You're just a good teacher. But that's not the answer. Whom say ye that I am? Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Amen. That's the confession of faith. I mean, that's what every soul needs to come to, is to understand that God, from the Old Testament going all the way back to Genesis 3, promised there would be a Deliverer one day to deliver us from the mess. The Deliverer would be known as the Christ. Nobody knew His name until He finally got here, and then His name is Jesus the Christ. Although it's hidden in a few places in Isaiah 62 and Isaiah 12 and things like that, but the key is it's really revealed greatly for us in the New Testament that there's none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. And Peter got it, and when he got it, verse 17, Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona, For flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven." No man can figure out that Jesus is the Christ except the Father draw him and blow the wind of the Spirit in that person's life. When you and I are witnessing on the streets, you can't win someone to Christ. You can't, let's say, you can bring Christ to them. That's all you can do. You can't really bring them to Christ. You can bring Christ to them. And now it becomes a personal transaction as to whether or not they want to know Him. And in the process, when you're there doing the best you can to present Jesus Christ to that person, if God's not in it, And you've got to try the spirits. You can tell right away, this person has no interest. Then it makes no sense to sit them down. You could do like a clockwork orange and tie them up and put their eyes like that and put Bible in front of them and blast at them. You're not going to get anywhere because if the Spirit of God is not revealing that Jesus is the Christ, like he did to Peter there, it's not going to happen. The good news about that passage is Peter had no advantage over you and me. as finding out Jesus is the Christ. Well, he was with Jesus. He wouldn't have known if the Father hadn't worked spiritually inside of him. And so whether you're physically with Jesus or separated from him physically, God can still make the same transaction with any soul. God the Father can work in this drawing and wooing process and then leave it to that person to determine. But if God's not drawing or wooing, at my church I tell the folks, Don't bring lost people to our church for the most part, I say. For the most part. I say do this with them. Look, our church is a place where I'm to feed God's flock. That's what I'm told. So I'm to feed sheep. I'm not supposed to feed goats and all other kinds of animals. I don't want a zoo. We want a flock around here. And my job is to feed the flock. You go out and you talk to them. And you can invite them to church. And if they say something like, Yeah, I've been thinking about that. I've been wondering about some questions. I'd like to come in here. Well, then God's wooing and drawing. But if they give you any resistance, it makes no sense to draw them in here. God's not working on them. You're not going to get anywhere. I mean, to to coerce someone to come to church doesn't want to come. You think God's going to coerce people to go to heaven? They don't want to be there. So you use a little wisdom with this. If God's drawing, it'll be revealed and you'll see it. And when the time was right for me in the 1990s, 92 and 93, at that point, I did want to know some things. And I went to the church and listened freely because there was a drawing going on in there. Anyways, watch what happens in the next two verses, verses 18 and 19. And I say unto thee, Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." And there the Lord Jesus Christ, for the first time, mentions the word church and says, I have a future plan to do, understanding already that these Jews are going to reject Him. The kingdom of heaven isn't going to be set up. He would have loved that they received Him. Had they received Him, had the Pharisees and the Pharisees said, that's the Christ. He's our King. Then the Romans would have said, do you really mean that? He's your king. Yeah, he's our king. We believe him. We trust him. He's taken the temple. He deserves to sit on the throne. Then the Romans would have started killing the Jews and they would have killed Jesus and he would have died anyway. And the tribulation would have gone on for seven years. And seven years later, the Lord would have set up his kingdom. But they rejected the offer. And so the Lord knew this was going to happen and I'm going to set up my church. So I'm going to build my church. He knows what he's going to do. He can see down the corridors of time. I will build my church. Upon what? Upon this rock. So, you Catholics say, well, Peter is the rock, based on this verse. No prophecy of the Scripture is a private interpretation. Out of the mouth of two witnesses it will be established. All you say to the Catholic, lovingly, is could you please show me any other verse in either testament that would support that Peter is the rock. And when they say, I can't find one, say, well, it's curious. We're in verse 18. Say, would you please turn back with me to Psalm 18? And this is how you lovingly instruct someone in the Scriptures and let their eyes look right on, because it's only through the Word of God anyone's going to get truth. And in Psalm 18, lining up with verse 18, God make it easy. Inspire the chapter and verse markings. I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my strength in whom I will trust, my buckler and the horn of my salvation. Same psalm, verse 30. As for God, His way is perfect. The word of the Lord is tried. He's a buckler to all those that trust in Him. For who is God? Save the Lord. And who is a rock? Save our God. Two rhetorical questions that imply the answer self-evident. Same psalm, verse 46, the Lord liveth and blessed be my rock and let the God of my salvation be exalted. So very simply you can say, look, I know the church says this and that says that, but the Bible seems to show us that the Lord God is the rock in the Old Testament. And then you can take them to 1 Corinthians 10, verse 4, and show them that Christ is the rock in the New Testament and say, so I would assume, according to the Bible, that's why I don't believe Peter's the rock. And that's all you do. You say gently. Now go back to where we were in Matthew 16, and I'll end here. We've just got a few minutes. Now watch this. So, the confession is made. The Lord commends Peter for having a tender heart to the wooing of the Spirit of God and confessing, if thou shalt confess with thy mouth. If thou shalt confess with thy mouth what? The Lord Jesus. How do you get saved? I've got to repent from my sin. Where did you get that in a Bible? It's repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. When I got saved, I didn't even know what my sins were. But when I got saved, I realized Jesus is the Christ. He's the Son of the living God. And nothing else on this planet, or no one else that ever walked on this planet, that's the Son of God. And I confessed Jesus is my Lord. And I got saved. And I put my faith in Jesus and in God. And that's repentance toward God and putting your faith in Jesus Christ. And then Jesus says, OK, verse 18, I'm going to build my church. Verse 19, watch it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. And now nobody can explain the verse. Of course we can. He just told us in the beginning of the chapter. What did we just learn when we started this chapter? Go back. What's verse 2? First coming. What's verse 3? Second coming. What's verse 18? After the first coming. What's verse 19? After the second coming. Right in the same chapter. We can't explain. He would probably say the same thing. What's the matter with you guys? How do you not see these things? The kingdom has nothing to do with the church age. That's second coming. Just like Psalm 103. First coming, second coming, first coming. Boom, bang, bang. Right in the same chapter. And we miss it. Whenever you have a question in the Bible, use the 20-20 rule. Read 20 verses before and 20 verses after and keep asking and probably you'll find the answer. And we're out of time. Five minutes. Any questions? All right, I just want to say.
