O dearest Jesus, what law have you broken, that such sharp sentence should on thee be spoken? Of what great crime have you to make confession? What dark transgression? What law did Christ break? Did He break God's law? Did He even think one sinful thought? The Scripture tells us He never sinned, not in thought or in action. As we come to the table this morning, this table is open to anyone who has repented and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ alone to be saved. You've been biblically baptized. and you are a member of a local church in good standing, come to this table. Children, many of you this morning have either not professed faith or you've not been converted. And the message this morning is first of all to you, to recognize that you have sinned when you have not obeyed your parents. You've broken God's law. What hope is there for you, child or young person, if you are the child who is breaking that law by disobeying your parents? Do you have hope? The hope is only in the Lord Jesus. What did Jesus do? He lived perfectly and did not sin against His Father. in any shape, form, or fashion. Not one time did he ever even think a sinful thought. But boy, how many times have you thought about disobeying your parents? This is why Jesus' body was broken. What is necessary for you to be forgiven? There has to be the shedding of blood. And Jesus went to the cross and He died for sinners. Sinful children and sinful parents, He died for them that they could be forgiven. Young people, children, you need Christ. There is no hope apart from Him. and whatever failures you may have as a parent. If you're a Christian this morning, if you're a professing believer, come to the table and confess your sin to Christ and grow in Him. None of us is perfect. And ask forgiveness that God would forgive you. For not one parent can say I'm not a failure in some way or another. but we can cast our failures upon Christ. Our very burdens that we carry for our children, we can cast them upon Christ. And can we not ask that God would be gracious to deal with and grow our children in spite of our failures? And to forgive them of their sins, even the sins that we may have taught them. And certainly He will forgive them of the sin which they inherited from our nature. May we glory in Christ alone as we come to the table and confess our sin to Him. He is the High Priest.
