Before you read this, please understand this is not a political statement. I'm simply pointing out something. For most of us in the United States, this morning we awoke to newly elected government officials. I will admit some results saddened me. If the government is a reflection of America, my children are growing up in a country that no longer can be called a "Christian" nation. I wish I could blame Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former Presidents, or current Senators; I can't. The blame lands squarely on Christians. Yes you read that correctly - CHRISTIANS. The Bible says in II Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." When we choose our children's hobbies instead of midweek church service, when we're tired and we skip devotions but not our instagram, when Sunday finds us sleeping in instead of in a pew; we slowly destroy our own walk. Our walk influences our children and thus the basis of society the family. Folks, this isn't gloom and doom time by any stretch of the imagination. I believe we are beginning to see the world preparing for Jesus' return. What do we do until then?? We LIVE for Him. Pastor preached a sermon entitled Now Arise and Return on 11/3/19 am service. It encouraged believers to be more of an influence on the world but have less of the world's influence in them.
