This fall we have heard some great preaching from within our own church. Two of my favorites are: “Full of the Holy Ghost” and “He is Able”; both preached by our pastor, Pastor Chris Starr. Our Ministry Assistant preached a great message from the book of Daniel; “God’s Vessels” and Jared Dircks preached on “Being a Spiritual Pyromaniac”. Now doesn’t that spark an interest and wet your appetite to hear what the Bible has to say on these subjects? If you peruse our list of sermons on Sermon Audio there is a good selection of soul stirring messages! We also were blessed by a visit from a pastor from western Pennsylvania, Pastor Mark Montgomery. He preached a great message entitled, “The Veterans” from the book of Hebrews.
The Christmas season brings so many things to my mind. The First and foremost is the birth of Christ! He IS the reason for the season. I am overwhelmed when I think of the magnitude of the sacrifice Jesus made to leave His Father’s side and all the splendor of Heaven knowing what He would have to suffer because He loves me, and you! He is God’s Son, The King of kings, Lord of lords, and the Alpha & Omega! He is high and holy, and words fail to express His greatness!
Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! Ps. 113:6
People I am close to and care about, family and friends, traditions, and those in need would be on that list of what comes to mind as well as my church with all the activities and gatherings. One tradition at Mt. Zion Baptist Church is the annual Christmas musical. This year’s musical is “A Story of Christmas and God’s Amazing Grace”. It will be presented on Dec. 9th and 10th at 6:30 p.m. It is free admission and we would like to invite you and all to come and join in this special tradition in glorifying God through this story and music. We are looking forward to seeing you and many others on one of these nights!
