We experience it each and every day from the covenant creation around us. The world was engulfed in darkness and God said "let there be light!" In Him there is light and life and there is within Him NO darkness! There is an absolute contrast between God and His ways and the world. He IS the light of this world!

There were three festivals. The Passover feast and He delivered His people from darkness. The festival of lights and the festival of tabernacles (weaving of branches) where they staying in weaved huts for 7 days showing God taking care of them. They were brought into the land of milk and honey and there were to come celebrating! Also, there were two special celebrations. The priest pouring water 7 times over the alter- Christ said "I am the water and life" and those who would drink were given spiritual life...life forevermore! It's like a drink and you never have to take another one! Also, there were 4 candelabras that sat in front of the temple (large ones) holding above 10 gallons of oil each and they lit up the city. He IS the Light of Light! He was the "glory cloud" at night as His people followed Him (John 1:14)

He IS the LIGHT that dispels the darkness. There is so much religion and weird ideas based on man today. Man creates and perverts religion for his own benefit, but man cannot do it or deliver himself. We are told to walk in light and follow Christ! It is only in Him that we can see light! What we cannot do God can do! Not cloudy or gray skies...but LIGHT!

We also see and talk about the darkness. Christ said "I am the light" and they would not accept Him. Even though His testimony is true! They were stuck talking about His earthly father when He was speaking of where He was from...His HEAVENLY Father! (At this time He came not to judge, but to bring salvation.) Jesus told them "you do not know my Father...if you knew Me you would know my Father." He told them "you will die in your sins; where I go you will not find Me; you are from below and I am from above; I am that I am...." He IS GOD! "And if you do not believe you will die in your sins" and they then asked "who are you?" And they still did not understand. He says when the Son is lifted up they will know that He is God because His Father witnessed to Him after He brought darkness on the world on the cross and the dead walked through Jerusalem and the 3rd sign when the temple veil was rent in two giving access to God through Jesus Christ!
