Our reflections on the goodness of God should always be strengthened when we spend time in His presence, in worship, in the contemplation of His attributes, in His Word... when we see God clearly and truly, the response of a living heart should be love, adoration, praise, worship. When this is not our response, it does not mean that God is less, but that the problem lies with us. His righteousness, His holiness, His... RIGHTness is a given, always. It is our own sin and self-centered perspective that makes us resent and rebel against the pure and perfect commands of our sovereign God. Amazingly, the answer to this rebellion is the very thing we rebel against, the cure for our stubborn hearts is a clearer vision of our God and a better understanding of His law. So when you find that praise is not the response of your heart and lips to an encounter with your Heavenly Father, press in closer to the everlasting arms, draw near to His breast, and spend time basking in His glory. He will lift you up and turn your heart to Him.
