In Ecclesiastes 3:1 Solomon said, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” After a rather lengthy list of things he said in verse 7, “A time to keep silence, and a time to speak.” I have a personal obligation under God to be an honest minister of the truth that Christ has revealed in my heart. If God wills for me to live until February 2019, I will have preached the gospel of His glory 51 years. I have spent a great portion of that time in my study preparing what I preach and teach. I believe truth is “revealed” in the private place with God, not in the seminary (Matt.11:27; 16:17; Gal.1:16; I Cor.2:10; Phil.3:15; & Eph.3:5). Let me pass a severe warning to you from the Holy Scriptures, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will profess unto them I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.” (Matt.7:21-23). The Bible is literally full of these solemn warnings. Jesus warned of false prophets in Matthew 7:15. He also cautioned against the “wide gate and broad way which leads to destruction” (Matthew 7:13-14). He urged to strive to enter the “strait gate and narrow way” which alone leads to life eternal (Luke 13:24). My objective is to exalt the truth of Holy Scriptures and to oppose error. In the day of our Lord Judaism had departed from the way of truth and He warned against it. He said to His apostles in Matthew 16:6, “Take heed and beware of the leaven (their doctrine) of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.” Judaism was divided into two parts in the time of our Lord; liberal and conservative. The Pharisees fell under the head of the conservatives and the Sadducees were the liberals. Let us apply this to the systems of religion today. There is absolutely no soundness of doctrine in the liberal faction. On the other side, while the conservative faction hold to some foundational truths, their doctrinal structure is incomplete if compared to the history of the Church. For the greater part religion is far from the systematic theology of the Bible. It matters not what your label [demolition] is; the issue is truth and error. The prophet Isaiah said this, “To the law, and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them” (8:20). Consider also the words of Peter, “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies…and many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth is blasphemed” (2 Peter 2:1-2).
