Our daylong sightseeing tour took us on the skyrail, to the river where we took a ride. Bangkok is a huge city of over 6 million people. It is under continuous construction of new buildings which exist alongside very old buildings. We got out from our boat ride and walked to the king's palace. It was closed today because of the anniversary celebrations for the king. We were able to walk through the king's temple nearby, which included a reclining buddha. The grounds were incredibly ornate and date back to the 1700's. It was at least 100 degrees today, even in the shade and we all were dragging a bit. Please view the attached photos and enjoy with us our day! After the temple, we got back on the boat and took one of the side canals from the river. There were a few very nice homes and temples alongside mostly shacks that are built on stilts over the water. Boys were swimming and fishing from this very muddy, polluted river. After going back to the Guest House, we rested a bit and went our for dinner on our last night in Bangkok. We went to a nearby hotel and had dinner at a restaurant on the roof under the stars. We had a beautiful view of the night sky of Bangkok. Tomorrow we leave for our next stop. Please pray for us as we will be unable to communicate again until we reach Romania. We will upload all the photos at that time. Thank you again for your faithfulness in praying for the team!
