Our Father, what wondrous love is this that we see, that Jesus our Savior, for our sins, died upon the tree. What marvelous grace You gave to a wretch like me that You would open my eyes to see. To the Lamb we shall sing, because forgiveness to us Thou didst bring. While millions choose a dreadful curse, to us, You, O Lord have given the joy of thirst.

Because You have given us a new birth, we shall live with Thee when we leave this earth. Let us arise and shake off our guilty fears for the Son of man has indeed appeared. Because Jesus came for us to intercede, we come this day with only one plea. The curse was Thine. The blessings are mine. The guilt of our sins we need not bemoan. You died on the cross for our sins to atone. You rose to declare us free. We shall always thankful be.

Jesus is our light. He shines with beauty bright. Dwell with fullness in our heart and please O Lord, never depart. When we are weak, help us in prayer to speak. When we are empty, by Thy grace let us see Thee plenty. When we are bad, make us sad. When we are sad, show us Jesus, and make us glad.

By the hand of sinful men, Jesus was slain, and yet with Him we shall ever reign. The world sees itself as wise, but there is a veil over their eyes to disguise. The world is full of arrogance and glee, yet not knowing that judgment soon shall be. Lord, to the word, open their hearts to hear, for their death we cannot bear. Our families are blind, help us to be kind. We want Jesus to show, as we walk daily to go. Give us a way with them that their souls we might win.

Bless indeed the sick and ill. We pray grace according to Thy holy will. When the body grows weak and frail, help our spirits to prevail. When the storms of life come upon us like a gale, help us not to fail. When all is said and done, help us to overcome.

Hear us when we pray. When we are busy help us not to delay. To the heavens we lift our needs. For answers we must sow our seed. When we do not see You respond, help us not to despond. Help us to submit to Thy way, knowing that You will never delay. Keep us always full of trust. For faith to keep we always must.

Lord, when between us as brothers in Christ there are walls, break down suspicion between us all. When division among us finds it way, let be quick to say. We speak things that from our hearts should not spring. We do deeds that that sin feeds. Forgive us for who we are, and let not sin separate us far. The Church should be a place for peace, let all rancor and bitterness cease. Let us be first to go to those offended, and tell them to sorrow we have surrendered. Let fellowship be restored and enmity be no more.

Bless the preaching of the Thy word this day. Hold distractions at bay. The preacher is weak and he needs to be bold. Help him simply to tell the story that was told. Men are but dust who speak of jewels that never rust. With Jesus we come to sup. May His word fill our cup. Of men’s glory we need not hear, for of men’s pride we cannot bear. Let the preacher not trust in himself. For in him there is no wealth. Only in Jesus do we find riches and gold. To us may the story of Jesus ever be told.

Riches and wealth we do seek. For we have learned that God blesses the meek. For man’s praise we do not aspire. We know that the lust for praise is like fire. For God’s praise we must aim, and of His kingdom we seek to gain. Lord, as we run the race, let us see Thy face. Pride and vanity sometimes conquers the best. From such sins let us rest.

Lord prepare us for the days to come. Remind us that we are never alone. In troubles deep and worries overcast, help us by Thy grace to last. Do not cast us off or let us stray away. Keep us faithful every day. When we grow weary and the days are full of stress, may with trust we be dressed. When life comes at us hard, may he Holy Spirit be our guard. When we are near the end, Thy Holy Spirit send.

The Lord loves to hear his children ask. As a result of prayer Thy sovereign will is cast. Mountains we can move and valleys we can raise, if we simply go to God in praise. A word not spoken is a miracle that will be lost. Great will be the cost. A word not spoken in the time of the hour is worthless and useless and without power.

Lord, let us not be beguiled with rhyme, and maybe this is not the proper time, but if it helps us to worship Indeed, let it reach Thine ears we plead. In Christ’s name we pray - today. Amen.
