We have just uploaded another sermon in this series. For those of you who may be following each part as it is put on SermonAudio.com, you will notice that we appear to have jumped from Nehemiah 1 right over to Nehemiah 3, missing out on a consideration of Nehemiah 2. Unfortunately we had a problem with the recording of that particular sermon which means we lost the audio. Here is a very brief summary of what Pastor Chris Hand said:
A grand vision: Nehemiah 2:17.
Although Nehemiah was a man of vision, he dealt in the currency of hard facts. He surveyed the city carefully and was unafraid to admit that the situation was very serious. We have to survey ourselves for our spiritual fitness and not spare our blushes. Nehemiah found that there was little vision among the people. It is very easy for people at times to conclude that nothing is going to happen and we have to ensure that we do not lose vision for what the Lord can do. Nehemiah brought that vision to the people and encouraged them to believe that things did not have to stay as they were. We should have a strong conviction that the Lord is interested in our work as His people. We should believe that He will provide what we need and that He will bless us if we honour Him. Above all, we should have faith in Him so that we persevere with courage and determination.
