Christmas Day

God gave us a tremendous gift today by rewarding our efforts with an opportunity to preach the Gospel to a record crowd in church this evening. It was a tremendous day in all respects.

We had one service in the morning today, in which 46 kids came for the final day of Becky's faithfulness contest. That is a record number. Our chairs were full this morning with adults and teens also. That means 18 people, which is good for us. Many responded to the invitation.

Then in the afternoon we prepared for a banquet and evening service. It was a real blessing to see the people's participation in preparing and having the service. Our youth group is very unusual, with all boys at the present time. We did have some teen girls today, which we will try to follow up on. We used our teen activity night last Friday to start building tables to use for the banquet. They loved it. All but one or two came back Saturday to help finish, then came this evening too. Most of them don't come on Sundays yet, so that was a blessing.

The banquet went very well with 15 people, including me and Becky helping. They all brought some kind of food and helped in serving. They did a really good job making the food and there was a really good spirit in working together. Without the workers eating, the food prepared matched exactly the people who came. That means 48 people ate, and with the 13 Mongolian workers, 61 adults and teens came. There were about 20 kids, so that makes about 80 people in all!

A man and teen sang a duet and did very well for their first time ever, and our university student read from the Bible and talked about the birth of Christ. God seemed to give me liberty to preach and the people were very attentive. Many relatives and friends of our people came, which was exciting to see. Some of our old friends came also. Sorry to write so much, but it was very exciting. God has blessed us so much more than we deserve. We have 16 visitor cards to follow up on, which is more than we have ever had from one service before, and some that didn't fill out cards.

So, that was a wonderful gift for us from our gracious God on this Christmas day. We pray that your Christmas day will also be blessed as you use it for Him.

In Christ,

Jason
