Isaiah 42:1–3 (NKJV): Behold! My Servant whom I uphold,
My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. 2 He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.
The Christ comes among us with peaceful nature, with loving intention, with careful purpose... this is not to say that He is careless of sin, for He IS uncompromising regarding truth and righteousness; but His demeanor, His presentation to us is gentle. This does not make Him soft, nor does it make Him weak. There IS steel in Him, but it is steel that is true, powerful and real. It does not need to be flaunted, it does not need to scream to be heard, it does not require violence to make its point. Steel of this quality simply will not be moved. It cannot be altered, it cannot be harmed, therefore it stands true, and unafraid. HE actually cares for the captive, for the weak and the powerless. He truly loves those who have been captured by the enemy, and He WILL free all that He has chosen for His own. He can not be overcome by anyone or anything and the reality of this fact allows Him to simply DO what He came to do, unaffected by the desires of the sinful mobs around Him.
Compare this character to the loud, screaming, chaotic voice of the culture's idea of social "justice"... those who have no real content must fill that void with noise, those who know the empty weakness of their own pretentiousness must use violence and fear to force their will on the world around them. Be mindful of this fact beloved; when you allow yourself to become angry and incensed, when you permit your flesh to rage; even though you fight in the cause of Truth, if you are using the weapons of the enemy, they will ALWAYS cut the hand that wields them. Recognize that when we speak the Truth, as we are called to do, that we need to exemplify the character of our Christ, and not the spirit of the age. Understand that the weapons of our warfare are NOT weapons of the world, that we speak truth into darkness; and though they scream like rabid banshees, those of the darkness will not overcome us. When they act like mindless animals, they are showing the truth of their natures, we must be careful to show the truth of ours!!
