We live with our eyes on the hope of tomorrow, the promise of heaven - and so we should! But there is also an aspect of the promises of God that is for here and now. That gives us hope and comfort for a better today and a better tomorrow. There is a part of God's promise that tells us that He will bring about His glory in the land of the living, that the gospel can and WILL have its work accomplished. That hearts can be changed, that lives can be transformed. There is a part of God's promise that reminds us that there is still hope for the broken marriage, for the scared, unwed mother, for the abused, the downcast, the brokenhearted. There is a part of the gospel's power that not only reminds us to hope for a better tomorrow but to believe that God will give us a better today. Not with a promise of the toys that the world values, but with the promise of real good, of true transformation, of lives and a world made better because of the working of the Lord. It may not seem like we have much to hope for when we see the way the world is declining, but the working of God's power waits only on the fullness of HIS timing. He calls us to wait and trust in Him. To believe that He will fulfill every promise He ever made and to KNOW that NOTHING can stay His hand. The desperation that traps us, that makes us afraid in this day comes only from our lack of faith in our God. We spend our time looking at our circumstances instead of at our God and it warps our eyes, it warps our HEARTS! Beloved, I urge you, give yourself to the promises of God and wait on His timing. You WILL see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, you WILL see the triumph of the gospel, the glory of the risen Christ and the full display of the power of God to transform everything!! He is STILL the God who raises the dead!!
