"Having a Form of Godliness"

Can you believe it is November? I love this time of year. I was out in town when I noticed something disturbing .. tofurkey. What kind of evil mind would develop that? That's like tea without sugar and lemon, brownies without ice cream, or turkey without stuffing. Stop the madness! Ok, I'm teasing but tofurkey is tofu that sort of, kind of , maybe tastes like turkey. It may look like it but it isn't. It has a "form of" meat but when you take that first bite... Pastor Starr preached a sermon on 10/7/18 "A Form of Godliness". II Timothy 3:5 "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." The world doesn't need a person who goes to church Sunday but lives like the world Monday through Saturday. If a person is satisfied living that way, they are in a very dangerous position. God wants our outward appearance to be a reflection of who we were are on the inside. The Bible commands me to be holy - I Peter 1:16 "Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."  This Thanksgiving as you sit around the table eating turkey or tofurkey ask yourself, "Is my walk with God real or simply a 'form?'"
