The Law Made Great and Glorified
The Law Made Great and Glorified “The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.” Isaiah 42:21 )
T he LORD:
Is well pleased for HIS righteousness’ sake : “There is NONE righteous, NO NOT ONE.” Romans 3:10 ) The righteousness (justice) with which God is well pleased, is first of all, in the PERSON of Christ, the Just ONE. There would have been no salvation, had HE not been there from eternity as the Just One Who covenanted, from eternity, to come in the flesh and earn, establish, fulfill, and satisfy ALL of God’s law and justice. So complete would that work be, that God the Father was well pleased for HIS righeousness’ sake, accomplished by His Beloved Son, in the flesh.
He will magnify the law and make it honourable: Romans 3:25 . None were justified (acquitted and declared righteous), until Christ has fulfilled perfectly not only the precepts of the law (magnifying it by His perfect obedience of it), but also its penalty (suffering the death of the cross). It was not until He shed His blood unto death that God the Father declared righteous those for whom He paid the debt, thereby imputing (attributing) that righteousness to the Spiritual account, once-for-all, of every one of those sinners chosen in covenant grace from eternity, Romans 5:9 . O! What a Just God and Savior He is!
