(Hebrews 4:16) “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
There is a difference between boldness and brashness. We can come to God in prayer based on the merit of Christ with confidence, knowing that God will hear our plea. But to burst into the presence of Almighty God thoughtlessly, presumptuously, and brashly is sin. Think not that that person will find Grace in time of need but rather condemnation. Our standing before God is based only upon the merit of His Son, our High Priest, and not upon our righteousness. For we are as filthy rags before Him in and of ourselves. Our confidence before God must be based upon His finished work of Atonement. Holy reverence is always in order in the presence of God Almighty!
(Psalm 89:7) “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.”
